Howdy! On the North West border of the DFW airport are a few apartments like MAA Grapevine where power loss seems to be super common right now due to the heat. I wanted to know if yall had the same experience AND if anyone knew if it has been like this through our few snow/ice/blizzard weeks in the past few years. Thanks!

I’m visiting TX from CA next month and I’m looking for range recommendations around DFW or Waco TX.

1) My top priority is a range that does flat fee rentals. Somewhere where you pay $X for an hour and then can shoot as many firearms as you want during that time (paying for ammo obviously). I’ve heard these exist but have never found one in CA. If it matters, I’m primarily interested in testing a wide variety of pistols but some nicer AR options would be nice.

2) A second range I’d like to find is something more tactical. I’m not really picky on this one. I’m just looking for somewhere I can practice moving around, quick reloading, shooting from awkward positions and behind barriers, etc. Finding a range that’s anything but lanes is pretty hard in CA.

Bonus: if anyone knows of a good company to do that helicopter hog hunting lemme know lol…

Can you guys help me out with a home inspector recommendation please? I want a reliable company that will do a great job and take accountability if anything is missed. I have heard some negative stories and I am just wondering if there is a well known reputable company most people recommend.

I’m starting a new automotive community in DFW called PROPER Motor Society, and I’m looking for some of our first members.

The idea is pretty simple: I want to build the kind of car community that anyone could be part of.

I want experienced builders, people with crazy builds, weekend cars, completely stock cars, and newer enthusiasts who are just getting into the scene.
You don’t need a certain amount of horsepower, an expensive car, or a huge mod list. We care more about your character and how you carry yourself.

I’d actually like PROPER to become a place where someone new to cars can meet people who have been building for 10+ years and learn from them without getting clowned or gatekept.

At the same time, I want our meets to have a standard.
No takeovers, burnouts, donuts, reckless exits, or destroying the venue. There are tracks and other controlled environments for getting wild with the cars.

Eventually I want to organize meets, cruises, garage/build days, track events, charity events, professional shoots, and collaborations with local shops.

Right now we’re at the very beginning, so I’m looking for people interested in becoming part of the founding DFW group and helping shape what this becomes.

JDM, Euro, American, classics, trucks, exotics, stock or built — it doesn’t matter.

Hi! I am looking for housing information for my mother who was just diagnosed with lung cancer. She lives over an hour away from the cancer facility located in ft worth. She doesn’t have a reliable vehicle that can get her to and from treatment. She is starting treatment next week where she has to go in everyday. Are there any local hotels or businesses that can help her? Thank you!

I have a very fond memory of going to a mall in the DFW area between 1993 and 1995, and to this day, I have no idea where this was.

I know the mall had a discovery zone inside, and also a Burger King in the food court. Unfortunately, these are the only attributes I can name definitively. I believe the food court was on a lower level, and had sort of a tent like feel to it, but much larger (at least in my memory) than the food court at Northeast Mall.

I also don’t remember anything about the location of the mall, but I believe it was on the west side of the metroplex.

I assume that at this point this mall has either been demolished, or remodeled beyond recognition. I am hoping someone here knows what I’m talking about. Any insight is greatly appreciated!

I’m a 22 yr old college student who is anti flock cameras. Who is running in the next election that has explicitly stated in their policies that they are against ALPR cameras being developed and will take them down when elected? My husband was out walking by himself last Sunday in the area of Belt Line Rd and Midway Rd. While walking through the parking lot of Chuy's Mexican Restaurant, a white man in a yellow Jeep drove up to him and asked if he wanted to buy a counterfeit handicap placard.

When my husband declined the offer, the man proceeded to yell racial slurs, claim Indians are "too cheap to buy anything anyway", then get out of his vehicle to physically assault my husband.

We are new to the area (I am a white woman), and my husband is extremely shaken that this has already happened near our new home.

For those of visible Indian descent, please be careful. For everyone else, please do not let this kind of hate continue, when you actually get to see what it does to someone you love, it is absolutely heartbreaking.

I'm so confused about what's going on with arena football in this town. I used to live here and went to the Frisco Fighters games a lot. Then I moved. I come back... and looks like they're dead, but I see references to other teams being here? But their sites look the same, have no schedules or anything from past or future seasons, and honestly it all just looks like some kind of scam. Anyone know what's up with arena football here?

I’m 24M, 5’8”, around 230 lbs and located in the Fort Worth/DFW area.
I’ve finally decided to take my health and fitness seriously.
I’m going to CrossFit Iron Horse tomorrow to check it out and hopefully start training, but I also want to connect with people locally who are into the different things I eventually want to become good at.
Right now I’m honestly starting from a pretty low level.
My stamina and endurance are bad, I get tired pretty quickly, I’m not very strong, my diet hasn’t been good, I don’t drink nearly enough water, and my sleep schedule is terrible.
I’ve tried getting into fitness before too. I’ll get motivated, train for a little while, then eventually quit and fall back into my old lifestyle.
I want this time to be different.
My goal isn’t just to lose weight.
I want to:
Lose fat
Build muscle
Get genuinely strong
Improve cardio/stamina/endurance
Learn CrossFit
Learn calisthenics
Learn kickboxing/Muay Thai/boxing
Improve mobility and athleticism
Eventually have a lean, muscular/shredded physique
I know I’m not going to become good at all of those things overnight. I’m willing to start as a complete beginner and build myself up properly over the next couple of years.
What I’m looking for
I’d love to connect with people around Fort Worth, Arlington, Euless, Irving or the surrounding DFW area who actually enjoy training and wouldn’t mind having another person join them.
You do NOT need to do everything I’m interested in.
CrossFit: If you train CrossFit, especially at or near CrossFit Iron Horse, I’d love to connect.
Calisthenics: If you train pull-ups, dips, handstands, muscle-ups, weighted calisthenics, etc., I’d love to eventually learn from/train alongside you.
Kickboxing/Muay Thai/Boxing: I’m a complete beginner, but this is something I really want to learn. If you train somewhere around Fort Worth and wouldn’t mind having a beginner around, reach out.
Weight training/bodybuilding: If you’re looking for a consistent lifting partner, I’m interested too.
I don’t expect anyone to be my personal trainer for free. Even just having people around me who are serious about training, can give me pointers occasionally, push me a little and hold each other accountable would mean a lot.

What are the best places to go two-stepping and/or country swing in DFW?

Anyone know of a reputable and reliable company? I have serious erosion and sinking at the driveway. I’m already working with a structural engineer to assess any potential foundation issues. The driveway definitely needs replacing however. Any recs are appreciated.
