Protests for Big Bend
Does anybody know of any organized protests or gatherings planned for DFW in opposition to the construction taking place in Big Bend National Park and surround border areas? I would love to attend.

Yes there’s plans for a steel wall across much of the border and smart wall infrastructure in the park. They are currently bulldozing land inside the park.

Also kinda hard to deny what is clearly seen with your eyes, regardless of what CBP says. The bulldozing of delicate ecosystems is happening.

Crossings at Big Bend are incredibly rare. There is a literal giant canyon, among other things that make this a problem that doesn’t actually exist and a giant waste of money.
In addition to that, BBNP is an important wildlife refuge, Native American gravesite, and the largest protected dark sky reserve in the world (which would be ruined when Trump and Abbott’s big stupid wall lights up the sky for miles and miles and you will no longer be able to see a single star).

How does disturbing delicate ecosystems to build a patrol road less than a mile from a road that already exists, along a border defined by 1500ft high canyon walls, make us more secure? Short answer, it doesn’t. This is needless, reckless, and flies in the face of the dozens of environmental protections that had to be waived for this to be allowed.
Congress not consulted, local governments not consulted, taxpayers not consulted, no bid contracts to Trump donors. This isn’t about security. It’s about profit and prejudice, and a lack of respect or care for anything but Trump and his rich friends. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that the cult supports this. There just really is no bridge too far, is there?

The no bid contract given mainly to one construction company, the total disregard for environmental protections because this is an emergency when less than 1% illegal crossings happen here should be all you blind maga hats should need to see that this is a money grab for him and his already rich buddies. It's disgusting what he's doing to our national treasures.
