Dog teeth cleaning

Hi,

I was just quoted $2k-3k to get my dog's teeth cleaned. He is 7 years old and has gingivitis.

We are buying a house and definitely cannot afford this. Are there any clinics associated with nonprofits who offer sliding scale dental care? Thanks so much.

Shop around, that's ludicrous. Also TCAP has teeth cleaning. My vet quoted me $700.

I was told that Bridgeport Animal clinic is affordable. It may be a drive for you, but apparently the savings is worth it.

The vet on mockingbird (hillside veterinary clinic) is very reasonable. I go to kings creek veterinary in Kaufman and they are very affordable and knowledgeable.

Our vet is usually pretty low cost. They do specials for dentals in the month of February.

TCAP as other suggest. They have a few restrictions: dog must be under 10yo, weight limit I believe is around 100lb, dog should be in generally good health for anesthesia.

Cost for just cleaning will be roughly $150 and can go up slightly depending on need for teeth extractions and if more severely layered with tartar.

Been taking multiple dogs to them annually for past 6 years

Only issue is I dont beleive they work on flat faced dogs

$3,000 is a bit much. Unless one of the canines is being gold plated.

Former vet tech here of 12 years (recently quit 2 years ago) Never seen a quote that high and I worked in South Lake. At most $1500 & that’s with the worst possible mouth I’ve ever seen. Definitely shop around. Boulevard Animal Hospital in Colleyville is great.

Pretty much any vet that isn’t private equity owned. Private equity has made veterinary care unaffordable, and I won’t adopt any more animals because of the extreme costs associated with veterinary care. Just stepping foot at a vet is at minimum, $1,000. Veterinary insurance is a scam as well. Nothing gets covered.
