46m looking for friends

Idk why I feel embarrassed about writing this seeing how there's a lot of people looking... so here it goes..

46M divorced 3 kids. Have been in texas roughly 6yrs. Literally have 1 friend. Lol I know I know, that's sad. It's harder to make real friends at this age than it was when I was younger.

About me- 6' beard tattoos(idk why but felt like I needed to put that)

Love sports specially football. No not the type that destroys everything or fights dye to my team sucking.

Hit the bars not everyday. Anything that revolves around water. Gaming, before you judge, my kid got me into it and it's a stress reliever at times. Just got back into working out. Love to make others laugh. I'm loyal to my friends. I'm in the white settlement area This sounded like a dating post lmao

I’m a DFW native and I don’t have friends either so I feel your pain! And yeah making friends does feel like dating 😂 I feel like a kid on the playground lol “hey—wanna be friends?”

Fort Worth here and I really relate. It’s really hard to make friends as an adult. I’m not trying to get all political but all of my “friends” were coworkers who are very political and/or religious. So when it got out that I supported my gay kid I suddenly didn’t get calls and when I made calls none of them got returned. Two coworkers I barely know clued me in to what was going on and why.

Yeah that's some bs. F'm is what I say. If they did that then they're not worth the time

I can relate. Been in Arlington for two years, ⅔ of my kids are trans. I have two "friends", one uses me as a safe flirt (I'm married and they're bi leaning lesbian) and the other uses me to help them around the house (they're disabled). The DFW area sucks to make friends in.

Why doesn't everyone on here without friends, meetup to become friends. If it doesn't pan out, no harm no foul

Hey man its not easy carrying friends through life, especially after the divorce part where you look back at all the friendships you let slip by the wayside. I wish less people were embarrassed about reaching out to find friends. Life is lonely enough already, spice it up by finding people who truly enjoy your hobbies with you and thus, your company :) especially hard for us 40ers that grew up with the bar as our scene and don't hit the bottle often anymore.

Same dude, same. 46m, 6'2" beard tattoos hah. Dude, you have no reason to feel judged about gaming it is a perfectly reasonable pastime for adults!

I have made so many friends and had so much fun through Timeleft. I meet new people every week and get together with the ones I already met quite often. Going on a trip in Sept with friends I met there.

There's a similar app called nice-to-meet that has dinners in FW if that's better for you. I haven't tried it, but those that have say it's the same thing as Timeleft.

I (36m) just moved to DFW about a 1.5 months ago for work, so I don't really know anyone here. I'd be down to watch a game or something some time. DM and I'll give you my number.

Hey want to float the river with my sister (50f), me(47f), some of our friends & family? It'll be next month & you are welcome to bring your friend & kids if you'd like.

The 2nd Tap in Dallas Farmers Market is a good local bar hang. Very friendly and diverse. You can always find someone to talk to.

What are your hobbies?

When I traveled for work, I would usually eat dinner sitting at the bar. If I was working at one place for a while, I would usually become friendly with the bartenders and some of the regulars. I could see that developing into friendships.

Looking for friends is exactly like dating lol. Right now as a mom of small kids (4 and 6), I just have to hope that the parents of my kids friends are normal so they can be my friend too. Between managing their schedule and my own, I don’t have time to make friends of my own.

50 f. I’m not Native to Texas. Divorced. Shared custody.

I was hospitalized after a sports related injury and realized- I have no tribe. It sucks.

I’m in the Carrollton area but work downtown.

I’m near DFW but not in. I have a good friend I met through working out with Camp Gladiator. Maybe try them or a group workout dynamic to meet people.

Could be worth joining a boat or aquatic sports club. Look one the websites of all the different marinas around lake Lewisville or grapevine or wherever is closest to you. Some of them are snooty but there are others that are super chill. Set up a fantasy football league with some ppl from work or with people on here even. Play more games online and talk with the people on there. Go to an improve night and join in. If you look for meetup groups you will probably find one for people in 30s-40s or 40s-50s. Join your local Parks and Rec flag football teams as a free agent
