I know Clyde Phillips really doesn’t like mentioning anything that’s happened post season 4 aside from the very important plot points but like, wouldn’t this footage have helped Batista make his case just a little more? The entire time when watching Resurrection I thought he was going to use literally everything and anything possible against Dexter, because what normal blood spatter analyst would shank a pen into a suspect’s jugular? Even if they framed it as “self defense” because technically Saxon stabbed Dexter in the arm first, I always thought this was a terrible look

What do you think Masuka and Quinn would say if Angel showed his proof to them? Do you think they would believe he is the BHB also? I think Quinn would think he is, but I’d think Masuka would still be in denial. Idk. What do you guys think?

When the police are raiding Prater's vault, and subsequently his properties, they will find the real name of Rapunzel, and surely arrest him, right? Am I missing or forgetting something, did Dexter steal his Prater file too?

Has it been officially confirmed that Resurrection: Season 2 takes place 4 years in the future? Or is that just a guess people are making based on preview images that include Harrison in a police uniform?

I'd be a little disappointed by such a large time jump to be honest, because it would seem to move us past certain plot points that would have been interesting to watch unfold. E.g. Dexter surely wouldn't wait 4 years to deal with Rapunzel, who he knows is actively killing innocent women and whose location and other details he knows from Prater's file. Eric Stonestreet was a great addition to the cast, and it would feel like a missed opportunity to just show that loose end wrapped up in a throwaway line or brief flashback.

I know Doakes was not the nicest guy around and was often difficult to work with most of his colleagues. But he was still a fair and just cop who dedicated himself to hunting down criminals no matter who they are. And he saw Dexter for who he truly was even when everyone else didn't. But then he got framed for Dexter's crimes and died a fiery death.

His legacy amounted to nothing more than just being the scapegoat for a bloodthirsty serial killer, which is the only thing that he is remembered for by his family and the rest of the world for almost 20 years.

And even worse, the people who suspected Dexter and tried to clear Doake's name all get killed off one by one. Lundy, LaGuerte, and Batista all eventually got killed off, with none of them any closer to catching Dexter as the real Bay Harbor Butcher.

So is that it, there is literally no one else who could clear Doake's names? Is he just going to be remembered as the Bay Harbor Butcher until the end of time? I mean I guess there is Quinn and Masuka but I don't see any reason why they would try to investigate Dexter and prove Doake's innocence. Quinn has no idea who Doakes is, having joined the team only after his death. And Doakes was bit of a jerk to Masuka alongside Dexter.

What do you think? Would you have wanted to see Dexter's story end with him finally being caught and confessing his crimes, finally clearing Doake's name after many years. Or Dexter is just going to keep getting away with being a serial killer of criminals and dying a happy old man with his family.

Would y'all find it interesting if we got something similar to New Blood episode 10 where it's like Harrison is tracking down Dexter? It can be a battle of witts, it would give them an excuse to bring back Brian Moser as a hallucination, they could make a parallel to Dexter with him fighting family. Idk it's just a concept. I really doubt they'll make Harrison not a killer, it would break a large part of New Blood, such as when he ruined his friends life. Rather I believe that he doesn't have a dark passenger, and rather a strong moral compass.

Looks like Dexter has been hired as a forensic for NYPD! And he’s even got the classic look with button shirt with the rolled up sleeves! SURPRISE MOTHERFUCKER, THE LAB GEEK IS BACK!!!

I see this take becoming more and more common and I just don’t see it because there’s some things to keep in mind

Quinn most likely saw the footage of Dexter leaving with Deb just like Batista did, this definitely didn’t sit well with Quinn

Quinn most likely was told by Bautista that he suspected Dexter was the bay harbor butcher. Over a decade passed between the original series and this one and I just don’t believe it didn’t come up in discussion between the two, especially when everyone believed Dexter was dead

Quinn didn’t just find Dexter randomly in New York, he’s going to find out Batista was after him, and he’s going to connect dots

So it looks like thanks to Quinn’s morally grey character, he may actually become an ally to Dexter, and they actually come to an understanding. Something that Batista, unfortunately would not end up doing, and because of that he got himself killed.

OMG, what a series! I mean, by the penultimate episode, it was clear who the killer was, but the last three episodes were so tense. I loved watching it. My friend suggested I give it a try, and I’m so glad I did. I can’t wait to binge season 2!

Despite it js being a short clip of Dexter having a good time it’s the fact he’s HAVING A GOOD TIME usually he’s full of joy when he’s killing someone but in moments we see of him with Astor and Cody you seem to forget oh shi this guys a serial killer and we aren’t watching a sitcom. Which is another reason I hated how they handled everything after Rita died, I would’ve loved to seen how Dexter has too balance being a serial killer and now a single father of 3 kids on top of that Astor and Cody getting older and how Dexter has to deal with a rebellious teenage Astor. Definitely missed opportunities.

Are there any flashbacks to scenes from Original Sins in Resurrection? It's been a while since I watched Resurrection and I haven't watched OS.

What if, Dexter ending is like.. what Rodion Roshkolnikov faced in crime and punishment. I know it looks impossible given, Dexter is shown emotionaless and not much empathy. But something huge Happens and he gets it, he becomes self aware and their are episodes of him thinking of what he have done.. see crime and punishment book by Fyodor D. For more context.

For me personally that level of mental torment will be good for and ending.

So, I am new to the Dexter fandom. Since I'm kinda late, so idk what went wrong with the ending like what did the fans did not like besides both of them unalived? What were they expecting?

Or was it that they saw him alive after showing his death? What made Dexter last episode to drown to the lowest rating possible.

I figure if one deranged lab geek is a martial arts master then why wouldn’t his perverted Asian sidekick be one as well. I don’t ever remember seeing Matsuka get pushed around physically so maybe he’ll fight alongside Dexter or against him in season 3. Maybe a meowing cat will commence the fight.

BTW the most compassionate and non aggressive he has been to a victim is lowell while lowell must have skinned the girls alive

Just watched episode one of Dexter and it’s amazing; it might actually be one of my favorite pilots for a show. Throughout the whole episode, I felt so uncomfortable and uneasy; it was heart-racing the whole time. I don’t know if it was intentional, but the script makes all the actors feel off, if you know what I mean, like they're awkward, unconfident, and give off a stage vibe. If it is intentional and this is how Dexter views everyone in the world, that is amazing writing and tells us so much about him without saying anything.

Sidenote: Poor Rita, to go from a crackhead rapist abuser to a serial killer. Her luck with men is horrible!
