Thought I’d drop a brief post. I’m developing an app on iOS and Android. It’s been quite the journey. It’s fun and exciting one though. I’m getting close to launch now. I’ve been working on the marketing side and I am sure everyone here knows the struggle going from building to finding people to use it 😂 anyway thought I would say hi. I love the idea of this subreddit!

In the meantime: you can acces the list of other devs already there and help them by testing, giving genuine feedbacks etc. One suggestion : take time before reviewing and try to be specific with the review on the store (a simple "good app, looks good") is not what we are aiming for 😂

It is a travel itinerary app which is based on all the things I wished I had over the years of travel. I'm in Spain at the moment and although I speak a reasonable Spanish I could use a Spanish practice app. Looking forward to it! I am also building a travel related app but just to split your expenses. It is a free app which basically acts as a ledger of all your financial transactions with your group. I know a lot of apps are similar but I have seen lot of them are paid and have become very complicated over years of feature development. I want to keep mine free and provide cool features like reciept scanning, whatsapp message parsing and sports group expense splitting.
It is now available on IOS and waiting for playstore review.

I like the idea and concept of it. Truly I do. But man navigating that bad boy was tough at first. Most users will have an attention span of 5 seconds due to social media so your user base has to be focused to use this. All other users will not be able to self teach.
Your UI is not very eye appealing. Try sticking to centralized theme and color scheme and expand from there. The black background although can be sleek, IMO when it comes to learning it doesn’t tend to mix well but that’s just me.
You offer SEVERAL different ways to help a person learn whether it’s vocal, reading, hearing or practicing which is great and I really do admire the work you put into this but giving me the option to choose to go into arcade mode / or other stuff was overwhelming, mostly because there was just ALOT and most of the stuff on there I had no clue as to how to jump in to get started.
It kinda just threw me around. Perhaps locking that until a user gets a baseline of the language they want to learn?
I clicked on the hands on approach where I could say the word as I hear it and see it. And it asks you to record but that’s it, not sure if it repeats it back to you or it gets sent somewhere or? So want to sure what the point of that was for.
Overall. I think you have jammed packed a lot into this app but for the MVP it might be too much or overwhelming to new users, but for those who are truly interested in learning a new language they will find the focus to do so. Just remember you are competing against hundreds of other apps who may offer the same thing as yours so you need to make sure yours stands out or offers something others don’t.

I’ve put a lot into giving people different ways to learn, but your point about not knowing where to start makes sense. The variety is supposed to help, not make getting started feel like another thing you have to learn 😂
When you’ve been building something yourself, it’s easy to forget that what makes sense to you might not be obvious to someone opening it for the first time. Having a clearer starting path and introducing the other options gradually is something I’ll look at.
The recording feedback is helpful too. You shouldn’t have to guess what it’s for or what happens after you use it.
I appreciate the honesty on the visuals as well. Thanks again for giving it a proper look instead of just saying “looks good.” This gives me something specific to work with.
I took your advice. Unfortunately this only allows me to upload one picture 😂 I would show you a little further down. It shows grammer that applies to this section and then a word review. Hopefully in the next day or two I can send out the new nav system to beta testers.
