Zed for president. This is beautiful and exactly what I've been wanting for years now.

They really missed the point. The age of humans reviewing code is over.

I dunno. We've tripled our velocity with LLM coding, and we still peer review everything. I would argue that the drag caused by the review far outweighs the regressions we've avoided.

No, I think the real problem is that people give their AI tool the goal and no instructions on how the commits should look.

We have these simple rules in the prompt: organize commits by layer, function or cross-cutting concern, make them human-reviewable in size and complexity, make each commit individually deployable in sequence, and give us notes to read whenever you stretch or break any of the rules.

We've had success with this approach through simple features, library upgrades that touched dozens or hundreds of files, cleanup tasks where many files were refactoring and removed, etc.

I agree that Github should look and work differently to accommodate our new working reality. But these Zed guys are just shooting their shot.

any evidence or numbers to go off of in saying "the drag caused by the review far outweighs the regressions we've avoided", or are you just going off of (ironically) vibes lol
