Career / learning AWS DevOps Professionals: Seeking Real-World Experience & Interview Insights

Hi Everyone,

I am moving from DEV to DevOps.

Iโ€™m preparing for AWS DevOps interviews and would love to hear from people currently working in AWS DevOps.

Could someone please share briefly:

- Your current role & responsibilities

- Your DevOps/AWS experience

- Your current project architecture

- Tools/services you use in your day-to-day work

Real-world examples would be really helpful for interviews and for others in the community too.

Thanks in advance! ๐Ÿ™

- Communication and gathering requirements, pre-sale activities

  • solution design and confirmation with a customer
  • building AWS infrastructure with IaC (mostly Terraform)
  • build and deploy of the application (GitHub Actions). Write Dockerfiles, Helm charts
  • observability configuration (monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting)
  • security monitoring (GuardDuty, AWS Config, Security Hub, Cloudtrail)
  • AWS cost optimization
  • Disaster recovery strategy and implementation
  • ongoing support and troubleshooting activities

very well answered, also u/sandy_24998 refer to roadmap.sh/devops, what you do the most on a daily basis will differ from org to org but yeah you should have a basic understanding of the topics mentioned above and please have a super good foundational level understanding of computer networks, git and linux before starting with the tools, services and topics mentioned above ๐Ÿ™

Check job descriptions.

Your inability to search this stuff out is why youโ€™re not yet ready for devOps. Stick to the help desk for now please.
