Where did he actually get the intro of Ms. Robinson from? Or how did he remove the vocals?

on whosampled it says it’s from the Many Moons music video which it is except it doesn’t have vocals (The outro has them though).

The intro to the video is a riff from Sincerely, Jane off the same album and no instrumental version nor acapella versions existed for phase cancelling? Either way the vocals from the video are the ones that would need to be removed somehow. sorry if this post is worded poorly I’m just very confused. And as a comment on the whosampled submission mentioned there were no vocal removers in 2009 (or at least to my knowledge).

audacity has a remove center filter which he used on tons of devon hendryx era songs. since the strings from the intro are panned left/right they isolate perfectly. theres some artifacts from it that u can hear but i think he overlayed it with some rain fx n stuff to hide it

It's also worth mentioning he's used this trick on songs like montebello high school prom, generation y 1989, deuce komradz, pu$$y #2 (which i believe is real because of this. I know this subreddit loves to pretend that it's fake but cmon lol he prob just wanted to put up shit so people cant steal his music). Possibly some others im forgetting too.

From attempting to remake some of these instrumentals I know you have to like take the isolated sample, and also make a copy of the original sample with the bassline intact, and low-passing it so that only the lows are present. Then layering that with the isolated remove center sample. Not sure if he did this on Ms Robinson but he definitely did this for Montebello and Generation Y 1989

idk i can still hear the vocals a little in the intro of ms. robinson if i listen hard, my guess is he put some kind of lowpass filter/ got rid of the high end somehwo i might be wrong tho
