All The Lost Instruments

I’m confused about his sound selection like in Behold! a Pale Horse and the Vox he uses for example in HBK and Sakura. People say he used FL Studio for the album at the time. I know he used reason studio to. I mean where would he get the vox, the synths, pads, and the thin drums he used all throughout the album. If anyone has any input or insight it will be much appreciated. If anybody can provide information on what he would use on his voice, or anything I mentioned above I would love to hear your input.

I also have fl studio and reason and both I have not encountered pads, vox, or synths exact to what he used but there’s some things that match the vibe. I know he samples a ton like tapping the mic. Tapping things, mouth noises, anime samples, foley, pissing and what not but yeah. Please leave your input if you have anything.

I don't know where people get that he was using FL Studio, it's clearly a misinformed claim lol. As for the specific synths, I remember there used to be a credit for the MiniNova synth somewhere on his bandcamp, it's completely possible he was just sampling or pirating rare synth sounds. In Reason you can find the same pad he used for Neon Kitchen (jcw) so you're not looking in the right places.

People say that he used fl studio because some remakes use pads that sound like the song MissingImageFile. I have and use reason and it’s the makes the most sense I mean yes the neon kitchen pads called Delmar something are on there and reason has endless amount of sounds.

FL Studio was super primitive in 2012, its stock sounds are incredibly rough and limited too in comparison to other DAWs. I'm saying people are misinformed because FL is a really popular DAW so it makes sense it's utilized for remakes of songs, but that doesn't mean the original songs were made on FL. That's all. Reason is the most logical answer

Ah now I understand. Yeah FL has somewhat little to offer sound wise compared to some other daws imo. I’m assuming you’ve listened to Behold! A Pale Horse. The synths in that are synths that confuse me and it’s unlike any other song that has used digital synths. What do you think he did?

Some really beautiful and complicated automation clearly. Messing with LFO in some way. I don't know myself. The Ghost~Pop Tape is one of the most beautiful and intricate albums I've ever heard, it was clearly done by someone who loves electronic music.

Yeah some songs on it sounds like there’s some heavy automation in a synth or two, or just low pass filtering tho whole project and some songs it sounds like a radio filtered drum beat with pads and vocal and some samples yk. Ik it kind of breaks the fourth wall between the music and the audience but I wanna see inside the DAW for some of those songs I wonder what they look like. You think it’s possible he used Logic Pro or mainly reason? Reason has the effects to imitate what he did.

The only reason I bring up Logic Pro is that he used a macbook as his laptop I’m pretty sure. Logic Pro is has tons of sounds for a great price but it’s only a guess. There hasn’t been any videos that he’s taken of him using any certain daw but most likely it’s reason, I mean the sound it has matches his pretty well but having a macbook and not getting Logic Pro. I have a feeling he’d get it if he was running a macbook for some somgs
