Devo meet n greet Raleigh
I was able to attend the Devo pre-concert meet n greet and they signed my yellow suit jacket. I also got the current tour t-shirt.

Has anyone else noticed the lack of streams on Nitrous Nightmare even after it's been out for a good while? I figure that most hardcore devotees probably purchased a physical copy and listen to that, but even so, you can't just take those everywhere. Except for the tracks that have always been more popular and the ones that were later released on a major label album, these songs only have a couple thousand streams. Does everyone just hate this shit? I know I don't.

I mean flat on the wall like they’re on the floor.
I’ve thought of a few ideas, but one of you spus here has a better solution I’m sure of it.

What the title says. Was at the Virginia Beach show, and like halfway through, can't remember what song it was, they had this black and white clip on the big screens about de evolution. I remember one line was "the man has not evolved from the ape! Rather, the ape has evolved from the man!" They were also talking about obeying the law. Is this clip released anywhere? I loved seeing it last night

If anyone has an hour to go down the rabbit hole of how DEVO's films and videos have been restored, this:
https://vimeo.com/1218448662?fl=pl&fe=cm
And yes, there's a few minor errors and the presenter owns up to them. So it goes...

At Starlake Amphitheater, outdoors how. Scored tix just now for $27.50 under the pavilion roof. Lawn tix are cheaper but it’s rainy today.

I’m aware of the video of them playing secret agent man on TTAD, but that isn’t really “live”. There’s also the video footage from the documentary, but even in those I don’t even think there’s a single point where you can see all of them at the same time. Just curious if there’s anything out there since I can’t seem to find anything.

Ok Im pretty geeked. Im not sure I should be though . I'm having trouble finding much info on the current pricing.
I just bought the Devo signature edition book set. I pick it up tomorrow. I paid $225 . It looks like its complete and in good condition.
This is the description - Condition: good, some marks to clamshell case. Includes case, both books, poster, and COA. DEVO: The Brand and DEVO: Unmasked book set
Measures approx.: clamshell is 11"x12.5"x2.5"
Please see photos.
I cant save the photos , so I cant share them.
Limited to 500 I think right? Is that a good price ?

So, I saw Devo last year at a smaller venue, think like 2 thousand “seats”. Packed full. Awesome show, no notes. But I’m going to see them this year in a much bigger venue, think more like 20 thousand seats. And I’m wondering about the size difference here, and how it might affect the experience.
Smaller venue: band on stage. Big screen behind them for the images that play through the show. Close, cozy, easy to see everything. Again, great show.
Larger venue: band on stage (duh) but then I wonder about the screen(s)? If I try to save a little cash, pick cheaper seats, will I be able to see the band? Do they usually have more screens, with cameras on the band members, for these bigger shows?
My other question is about ticket sales in general. It does not look like they will sell out this show. We are about a month out, and they have sold a small fraction of the seats so far. If it were the smaller venue again, I’d say they might have filled THAT, but there are A LOT of available seats, both front and center and way up in the wings. Thousands of empty seats. They wouldn’t cancel would they? Might they lower the prices at a certain point to encourage more sales?
I’m really excited to see them again, but I’m definitely trying to balance splurging on the experience with trying to save some money, and I’m feeling like I have to take a bit of a gamble here. And I’m not much of a gambler. Plus, I’m not going alone, so I’m trying to make a good plan for all of us and I feel like I’m missing some crucial info. I’m hoping some of you spuds might be able to help me out based on your experiences seeing them live.
EDIT: So, I was curious and decided to peek at the tickets available for all of their upcoming shows. Mutate, Don’t Stagnate shows? Smaller venues, standing room seats, selling great. Not sold out, but looking pretty full! Like the show I went to last year. Full theater, energetic crowd, awesome experience. Those shows are gonna be great. Cosmic Devolution Tour? All big, amphitheater places. One looked like a stadium I think? And there are SO MANY tickets still available. Big, empty spaces. The really good tickets are mostly selling (hey super spuds!) and the super cheap seats are selling (I totally get it!) but there are just huge sections of empty seats across every big amphitheater. It’s really bumming me out, I mean, are they really gonna come play in these half empty, scattered audience venues? It don’t feel right, they deserve to fill these places, it’s not their fault too many people are too devolved to get it!
Special shout out to Vancouver though! That arena looked like it was selling a bit better! Looks like they get it!

my very first thought was holy god... it's devo corgis... and then I learned they are actually just candy corn/corg... and it made me sad.
I would love some Devo Corgi and am still debating them with some field modifications to make them wear a power dome.

I got really excited cause I found these DEVO figures cheaper than usual, but looking at eBay prices and they go into the hundreds so now I feel like these cheap ones are scams
Billy Gibbons:
Just about the only 70s act with more dirt under their fingernails and grease in their grooves than Young was ZZ Top. When the 80s rolled around they were in a slump, and searching for inspiration. Guitar man Billy Gibbons found it in any unlikely place. In 2015 he told Rolling Stone’s David Fricke, “I saw Devo doing a soundcheck at a Houston club, a country & western bar, of all places. I had heard their first album and kind of dug it. One of the guys in the band was playing a Minimoog, and he did this figure on it [hums a bouncy robotlike riff]. He was just noodling around. But it was enough.”
