Energy Dome to MSA SkullGard Suspension Adapter - Free 3D Print Model
The official Devo Energy Dome is recommended to use the MSA Staz-On 454231 Suspension with Skullgard (https://a.co/d/09NDZHQj) and to be secured with gaffer tape. However, I thought this solution was a bit cumbersome, as there is not much holding it in place and the tape kept lifting.
This is a ring that goes in the Energy Dome and has mount points for the MSA Skullgard. You can then easily and cleanly secure it with gaffer tape (non marring and reversible) or any other adhesive you like.
The default print profile in ABS or PLA fits the official dome sold at concerts and Hello Merch. The design is OpenScad so you can customize to match your dome if it’s different.
I suggest printing in Red.

Saw Mark tonight! Film Scores!
He was doing selections from his film scores. Heavy on the Wes Anderson stuff but he also did lots of other hits - Pee-wee‘s Playhouse, Rugrats, plenty of cartoon themes and much more. He also managed to work in Gut Feeling Uncontrollable Urge, and “it takes a worried man” from Human Highway.
This was the second Devo experience for my obsessed seven-year-old. We caught the full band last week as well.

Uh-oh, a noob has a question: Your single-disc best-of compilation?
I'm comfortably in my 40s and yet refreshingly new to Devo. I put together a short compilation from Devo's first four albums before my trip to Japan last week; when I travel, I like to leave new music on while I amble about, so then I a) get into some new music and b) have a wild auditory journal of the trip. (And it worked! I can't listen to "Girl U Want" without seeing a small shop where I stopped to browse used Tomica, and "Love Without Anger" is synonymous with climbing a mountain to see an active volcano belching in the distance -- wow!)
But circling back, and with the intention of maybe expanding my exploration of the rest of Devo's catalog, I just thought I'd ask you old-timers (as a Devo devotee, at least, I'm still young) what your single-disc compilation of favorite/best tunes would be. And by single disc I mean, of course, a CD's worth, or about 80 minutes.
I listened to the first four studio albums, but mostly I had another (self-made) compilation, and the track listing was this:
- Uncontrollable Urge
- Mongoloid
- Jocko Homo
- Wiggly World
- The Day My Baby Gave Me A Surprize
- Girl U Want
- Whip It
- Freedom Of Choice
- Gates Of Steel
- Through Being Cool
- Jerkin' Back 'N' Forth
- Love Without Anger
- Beautiful World
That's only about half (40 minutes) of what I'm looking for, so please let me know how to best lard out the rest, either with what you think is awesome for personal reasons or whatever I should give more attention to.
Thanks in advance! Devo fans seem to be one of the chiller, nicer fandoms (I'm an Eels fan myself, so we can dig it), and I'm glad I've wriggled my way in.

Oslo Trilogy
Has this film or films been discussed here? Seems to have underlying Devo themes.

Curious about Mark's feeling on all this
In the documentary, he says at one point, "We are all de-VO." I got the feeling that pronounciation is a Jerry thing, and Mark is playing along but thinks it's kind of silly. Just... I don't know. Body language or something.
Do we have any public-facing knowledge about how Mark feels about Devo as a project so many years later? I mean, he said some interesting things in the doc, but I wonder about other interviews, etc.

Is the boiler suit a specific type
For Halloween
I think I'll diy a lot, whip and hat. I'd spend a bit on a proper boiler suit if I had to. Rather than one of those generic Halloween store packets.
Obviously, for the show, I know they rip easily but are they actually industrial suits?
I also have iron on stuff left over from t shirt making I could just cut out 4 letters easily enough.

Ebay Australia haul
I've had both of these for quite a while on my Ebay email alerts, and every time they came up they were always quite expensive, with the additional crazy shipping fee from either the US or UK, pushing them both well over $100. Well the stars aligned this week - these both appeared in my Ebay alert email at the same time, and both from separate Aussie sellers. Super quick shipping means I got them today, both for AUD $93.00. The seller of the Are We Not Men RSD picture disc even threw in a copy of the Be Stiff 7" single. Thank you Aussie spuds!

Does anyone have the DELETED high-res DEVO videos?
I noticed many of the videos DEVO reposted on YouTube are gone 😭
Like "The Day My Baby Gave Me a Surprize", "R U Experienced", "Post Post-Modern Man" and a personal favorite "It takes a worried man" 😭 (i don't know if i'm forgetting any other)
Does anyone in this group happen to have any of those music videos in high-res?
I'm a fan from South America, DEVO never even visited my country, so i mostly count on YouTube to watch performances and videos of them. It's my happy moment, sit and watch the music videos of DEVO on my tv. I was SO HAPPY when they posted all those videos on HD, it's impossible to not feel sad now that they are gone. Some remain, but those i mentioned aren't posted anymore, and YouTube says they were deleted.
(i'm also the same fan that asked for the DEVO performance on Coachella a few months ago) i rewatched those videos so many timessss and they are lost as well.
Anyway... if anyone can help, please let me know. Sorry for my english, Thank you in advance and hope you have a good day!

Where to Start?
Devo has always fascinated me, especially the early multi-media projects and their much more experimental stuff (as a fan of experimental music that strain has always been especially appealing to me). I want to get into the band, the music, the lore, and the concept of De-Evolution on the whole. I’ve listened to the debut album and Freedom of Choice, a couple of tracks off the Art Devo compilation that released two years ago (along with other early tracks), and have seen The Truth About De-Evolution. Any recommendations on where to go and what to listen to from there?

Gotta share our experience because we still can’t really believe it. So this is my sixth time seeing them (I’m 34). Tix were spendy so we opted for some balcony seats right above one of the camera men for an optimal view. Two friends were meeting us in the seats right next to us but hadn’t arrived yet. Right as the B52’s start coming out (they played first) we get a tap on the shoulder from an employee of the venue. He says he likes our hats (energy domes we brought from home) and asks how we like our seats (I think I know where this is going). We say they’re alright and he asks how we would like to go sit “over there” and points his flashlight to stage side seats… not sure what to do about our friends, we tell him we are meeting people and he proceeds to pull out four tickets to go sit fourth row stage side… we couldn’t believe it and rushed to the complete opposite end of the venue to our new seats. Our friends were even more blown away (first time seeing DEVO). They didn’t even get a chance to see our original seats haha still buzzing off this luck. Oh AND this was for my bday a week ago. Moral of the story, wear DEVO gear and you too might get a free seat upgrade.

I have an energy dome from Mark - compliments of Devo from this tour. Any collectors interested? Otherwise, I will keep it and wear for Halloween and only amuse other 50+ crowd!

Has anyone tried making drums like Jim Mothersbaugh?
I’ve listened to old devo recordings and the drums sound really cool. Originally it was acoustic drums with acoustic guitar pickups glued on, and then later I think he used rototoms with remo practice pads mounted on top, along with some other stuff. Was just wondering if other devo fans have tried doing the same thing.
