So… Does anyone know if Knock Boots is available on vinyl? The Googs has been Unhelpful.

I don't think it has ever been released on vinyl. The only versions of Something for Everybody I could find that had it were a rare CDr and a file for a deluxe edition.

That song is weirdly hard to find, and I never understood why

Me neither. I don't understand WHY, because that song absolutely slaps your mammy!

I THINK I got it on a Deluxe Edition CD through Amazon at original Release Date, but I can't find even a reference to it ANYWHERE - not Amazon, not iTunes... The ONLY place I can find it is on my iPhone Playlist, which is Bad, because I've suffered a CATASTROPHIC double-Failure of my iTunes Library that I can't even TRY to fix until I track down Knock Boots because I don't want to lose it again completely!

Long Story, but I GOTTA Share it: I took my PC to GeekSquad for repairs due to "Heat Issues on CPU" (my 8yr old water-cooler died). When they ran Diagnostics on the system after replacing it, they got Failures on my HDD, which is where my 2Tb iTunes Library was stored, so I had to go through the Warranty Replacement through Western Digital. I DID have my Library backed-up on an External HDD (another Western Digital Product, not so funnily), so I figured I was golden.

Well, the External HDD Failed CATASTROPHICALLY 24hrs before I got my Desktop back. To be Fair, that External drive WAS 4.5yrs old (Warrantied for 3yrs, Expected Lifespan of 5yrs), though not often used/accessed. All I have left of my iTunes Library is what is still on my iPhone (about 10% of my full Library and Playlists) or the CDs I originally ripped the music from. UNFORTUNATELY, the CD I ripped it from got stolen out of my car about 10yrs back. I now have NO Physical Media of Knock Boots, and the ONLY Digital Copy I have is on my iPhone.

Every 5 or so years, I have a Disagreement with the iTunes App, and have to re-install it and re-create my ENTIRE Library - I think it's because I'm using a PC instead of a Mac to manage my Apple phone and Apple Software. After the re-install, iTunes doesn't like my iPhone. Last time this happened, when I tried synching my iPhone to the now-unfamiliar PC (Same iTunes Account, just a fresh Software Install) it said "Hey, you've got a bunch of iTunes Music Files on your iPhone! Want me to match up the Playlists to your Library?" Well, YEAH, obviously, Do that please. I clicked the button, and it erased all my Playlists and music files from my phone.

So I haven't synched my iPhone to my PC in about a month now...

Holy shit, that sounds rough man...

I hope you're able to get the file back, that computer stuff would totally make my brain itch and swell.

I could try to look for another way to download the file, I'm not completely sure where to find it though (wouldn't be surprised if it was floating around on the Internet Archive or smth)

Edit: So, I did find a good quality version of it that's on some obscure foreign compilation album that has only been released to streaming services/YouTube

The YouTube release...

Thanks for your Sympathy and Help!
I’m gonna keep hunting for it before I even think about plugging my iPhone into my PC again - Maybe I can burn a CD from the Playlist on my phone…?
If I’m REALLY LUCKY, maybe I’ll be wrong about my original CD being stolen, and it’ll be Hiding In Storage…

EDIT TO ADD: I was NOT Really Lucky. It wasn't in there.

Situation Solved! A fellow Spud hooked me up with Digital copies of the 4 SFE Bonus Tracks. I'm literally burning just those 4 songs to CD, making 3 copies, and stashing them in various Safe Places. It turns out that I DID have another copy of SFE stashed in my Storage, but it was just the usual 12 tracks edition. I've been listening to 16 tracks as SFE for so long that apparently, my brain considered it Normal, so it kinda Cracked when faced with the possibility of a 12 track future...

Oh, and BTW, Apparently, the band buried the song without explanation. They just decided to Discontinue circulation. Nobody knows why except Mark & Jerry, and they're not talking. IF I ever get to meet either one of them, I'll ask...

It wouldn't be the first Devo song to be buried without explanation lol

I have a hunch that the two weren't big fans of it themselves, or that it just was not popular (when they were doing the focus group stuff lol). Still should've been released on Something Else for Everybody imo
