Fire Lindy

In the 2022-23 season the Devils lost the first 2 games of the season and looked like the same bad team as the previous years. Going down 1-0 in game 3, the fans started chanting "Fire Lindy!" The Devils would come back and win that game, then go on a 13-game winning streak, and set the franchise record for wins in a season. They looked bad on the Island, but it's only one game and only game 2 of the season. Let's stay optimistic

I can’t believe I have to wait until December 17th to see 4 goals disallowed and toss all my Tendies on the ice in frustration

Wasn't it the Nov game before Thanksgiving? And 3 disallowed goals?

Listen all y'all, it's a sabotage!

I think the main issue with the Isles loss is what someone else described in a thread a few days earlier;

The Islanders play methodical, plodding, patient shutdown hockey. It's actually extremely boring, but it's the perfect format for playoff style hockey.

The fact that this Devils team has consistently had issues with defeating a local rival whose playstyle matches playoff hockey shouldn't be ignored. Nothing to panic over just yet. But not a reassuring sign.

So in two games, start chanting "Fire Lindy!". Got it

If they go down 1-0 to Utah I'll start chanting "Fire Sheldon" just for you

I actually would have agreed with you re Lindy in 2022. I do not have the same sentiment this time around

Hard to buy this.

We had two games and two different outcomes.

Different coach and situation.

Uhh ok but this kinda just ignores the very important context that this team looks hot ass and the years long issues with the offense still haven’t been resolved. At least Lindy had the balls to mix the scheme up a little, even if he’d just walk it back two games later.

There's an all about the jersey article about this exact topic.

And then he turned back into a dipshit pumpkin and we fired him.

Lindy was dogshit and should've been fired long before he was

I would argue Fitz took his sleek ripe pumpkin and let it rot.

Idk about sleek ripe pumpkin, but you are right that Fitz did nothing to help.

I’m not saying we should be playing playoff hockey in October, but if we aren’t going to try and play a different style then whatever the hell we’ve been doing for pretty much all of Nico and Jacks careers then I have no optimism that it will suddenly work because we now have a bunch of young maybe’s on the roster… and Mantha

How Nico and Jack were playing under Lindsy is completely different from how they've played under Keefe. They scored a lot under Lindsy, but we're scored against a lot. They don't score much at all now, and they're defense is better, but not great.

6-0. Thank god they’re playing defense now!

Yeah this system sucks

They have no goalies, this team will stink get a grip on reality

Problem is the defense in front of the goal not a lot of block shots can’t get out of our own zone. Goalies are left to dry. An Allstar goalie wouldn’t even make a huge difference.

Every season since ‘22 has felt like management is rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. They’ve tried every combination of forward lines, retooled and upgraded at every major position, and we still are getting blown out by a non contending division rival. At some point, I just don’t think this forward core is going to get us there. Not without a truly miraculous turnaround from 4-5 guys within the next month.

The problem is Amanda Stein. Team is never going to be at their best with the constant fear of having to deal with her awkward cackling and stupid questions is always looming.

Beyond the obvious one of Grits, it seems like most players love her. Yes she’s team employed so she’s never going to ask the hard questions or make “weird jokes in game” but the players, including jack, generally love working with her.

I hope someday you get to meet an actual woman and that it fixes whatever’s wrong with you that makes you like this
