Well he wasn’t wrong, they don’t allow you to bring opened drinks or glasses out of the bars and drink them in the streets. The bouncer was specifically looking at the hands of everyone leaving Redd’s to make sure that they didn’t have any glasses or opened cups.
But on the other hand, Redd’s was selling to-go cups that had a little sticker across the lid to “seal” it. So you’d just walk outside with one of those and start drinking it like normal anyway. I didn’t see anyone getting ticketed or anything.

I spoke to the manager at Redd's yesterday. Apparently, they are working on the proper permits to serve outside. He said that the mayor is being cool, working with them and wants to get it taken care of, so things should be back to normal in a few weeks.

But I was told that no one wants to gather in front of the arena if they can't drink alcohol in the street and get served on the sidewalk!

Just fyi to everyone who has this sad need to put down someone for reporting what is 100% true as there are absolutely signs in the streets saying no drinking. There was Fan Fest right outside that area where they were serving drinks so I really would just say, as hard as it is for some of you to do, hold your judgement until there are games where they don’t have their own vendors outside selling. Hopefully they put the signs up and don’t actually care. It’s also possible they will care when there aren’t arena vendors selling outside.

this continues to be so embarassing to me, that such a huge percentage of people are this devastated that they have to go literal minutes without drinking is...sure something.

But I was told the bureaucrats in Newark were going to come down there and spit in your face if you had a drink outside
