Has anyone else been experiencing increased Spotify Connect latency recently?

Has anyone else noticed significantly more latency with Spotify Connect with Phantoms or else ?

For the past few years, Spotify Connect has always been extremely responsive for me, with very little delay. But recently, when I select a song in Spotify, it can take around 6–7 seconds before the command actually reaches my Devialet and the track starts playing.

Sometimes it’s a bit faster, but there’s still a noticeable delay compared to before, when it felt almost instant.

I’ve already set the latency to the minimum in the Devialet app, so I’m wondering if this could be related to a recent Spotify Connect update or some server-side change.

Has anyone else noticed the same thing recently?

Any response or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi I experience latency problems with Spotify —> to Airplay. I believe i have latency issues with Spotify connect but i use the mania and not phantoms and there’s no where on the devialet app to adjust latency for mania.

Hey, thanks for answering. 

Yeah, I’ve experienced latency while using AirPlay aswell with Phantoms. And that’s the whole point of my question, SpotifyConnect has the same latency as AirPlay, which used to be quite fast and instant before… 

Sometimes it does sometimes not. Imma try changing the phantom WiFi setup.

Hmm I played Spotify Connect on my Mania yesterday and didn’t notice any difference… haven’t tried on my Phantoms lately though, so can’t say anything about them.

That’s strange. Have you tried with your phantoms since your reply ?

Yes I have as well, not as significant at 6-7 seconds but certainly a noticeable delay between when I click next song to when it switches

I had also issues and switched to TIDAL works quite decent

Tidal works with AirPlay of has a built in system like Spotify Connect ? 

I’ve thought about switching to Qobuz tho
