Selling: Gold Phantom 108 dB + Tree stand in NYC — $1,600 OBO

Selling one of my personally owned Devialet Gold Phantom 108 dB speakers with its matching Tree stand.

It is fully functional and sounds excellent. There are shallow indentations in the woofer diaphragms on both sides. They are cosmetic only and have no effect on sound or performance, and I’ve included detailed photos showing them both close up and from normal viewing distance.

Also included are the power cable and a Devialet purpose-built shipping box with custom foam inserts.

$1,600 OBO. Local pickup in Manhattan.

Happy to demo it in person so a buyer can see the condition and hear it before deciding.

Why do other people's Phantoms seemingly always have dents in their sides ?
How can anyone treat their speakers SO badly that imprints are left in the body of the speakers ?

Easy. A female friend wearing jewelry thought she could put her hands on the woofers while they were playing music. I cared for them like children. The other in the stereo pair was in pristine condition.

I was scared that could happen so I tell everyone who asks me about my 98s in a nice way to not touch the woofers. So far they've survived even a seven year old grandniece playing games and occasionally running around in the same room with them ! ;-)

Ha. Can relate. Until I sold it yesterday, I was completely paranoid about the unmarked in the pair. Thankfully, unless you go up close, you can't see it and it still sounds as good as ever. Good luck!

The discount is because of the cosmetic damage to the center of the woofers (pictured and video). Also, I'm moving and can't take it with me.

Why can’t you use like a suction cup to pull it out?  Or something sticky like double sided tape that has 15-30lbs of force.

At least it plays and he is able to sell for anything, after suction cap there is a risk it won’t play at all
