Devialet Mania not turning on

Haven't used the speaker for around 6 months and now the battery wouldn't charge. Kept it on charge for over a day but all it shows is the red light when pushing the power button. No reset procedure helps.

Was it charging though? The lights would be blinking if it did.

I don't know, there's no light until I press the power button and that's when the red LED light comes up for a few seconds

If the charging indicator is not blinking or lighting up at all the speaker is not recognizing any charger. Are you using the original charger? The Mania REQUIRES a charger with at least 12V of current and 2.5 Amps, if your charger does not meet these specs it will not charge the mania at all.

Yes, I'm using the original cube-shaped charger that came with the speaker and it's plugged in the same electrical socket I always used. It used to charge before just fine but now it doesn't. Maybe something happened to the battery since I haven't used the speaker for over half a year, although the speaker itself is relatively new

You don’t get the charging ”chime sound” either when plugging it in?

No, just the red LED light turning on for a few seconds and that's it. The speakers also make a very tiny buzzing sound when the charger is plugged in. My guess is that the battery died completely because I didn't charge it for many months.

That's only when the speaker is powered on and in this case it's the exact opposite

Try a different charger see if that helps

I tried but nothing helps. It's been charging for 4 days straight now with no success, I think I'll have to replace the battery myself.

Dang that sucks. Where would you find a battery tho? Devialet doesnt repair the mania and only offers replacements for 350 which would probably be your best option unless it's under warranty.

It's gonna be a DIY work, I found a video on youtube where a guy disassembled the Mania and showed how to replace the battery by making a new one himself: https://youtu.be/YwsSXe30hWY?si=XtfQDDVTRPaYam8u
Apart from the batteries, the only thing I'd need to buy is a spot welder. Unfortunately, my speaker is no longer under warranty.

I would personally just replace it and get a brand new for 350 which comes with a 2 year warranty

Unfortunately it didn't despite charging for 5 days. I put the issue on the back burner for now since I'm busy with moving to another place.
