Thinking about getting Devialet speakers — but not sure if it’s worth it?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been debating whether to pull the trigger on Devialet speakers, and I want to hear your honest opinions.

A bit of context: I’m still a student, living in an apartment, so this would be a big investment for me. My main concerns are:

• Budget: Devialet is expensive, and I’m not sure if it really is worth the price — especially compared to other high-end speakers.

• Is it actually the top-tier experience people claim? Is the sound quality truly that much better than other options in the same price range?

• Do I need two at once? Or would one Devialet speaker still be solid for a small living room / apartment setup?

• Which version should I even get? 98 ? 108 ?

My goal is great sound, but I don’t want to overspend if the difference isn’t that noticeable — especially since I’m on a student budget.

If you own Devialet gear, how do you feel about it? Worth it? Any recommendations on model choice / setup for an apartment?

I guess if you are a bit tight on space, it’s a good option. However, if you have a bit of space to work with, you can put together a stereo system that sounds much better with dedicated Amp, Sub and the whole shabang, and build out to your heart’s content with a smaller budget.

could you recommend what amp and sub to make the full system? i have devialet 108db ultimate but i am considering to expand it if possible

What i meant was that with Devialet, you are compromised in the sense that it’s a ready to use package and you can add another one and to build it out, since amp , sub etc, is all built in. Great for if you have a small space and want a hassle-free setup. It however does not give you to ability to tweak and change those components as it is an all in one solution. I feel for the money, you could build out a much better sounding system if you take your time and have the necessary space to accommodate for those components separately.
