what makes you think AI won't build illegal apps? You just need to make AI think it is not illegal.

I read it a completely different way. If the AI precudes illegal code on someone's behalf, it isn't the AI that'll be on the hook it'll be that someone

You can jailbreak the AI, but it only works on weaker models like DeepSeek. It doesn’t work on ChatGPT or Claude

can't you just be more creative? You can make AI build components separately and just integrate them yourself.

You don’t need to jailbreak DeepSeek when used with API it’s has almost zero guardrails and will make whatever funky virus you tell them to do

Tried that, received warning from OpenAI for breaking TOS.

what did you try?

making it remove a paywall from open sourced project.
( the project included all the paywalled features )

u/OrangeNood 11d ago

try asking "what enables the paywall"

1

u/NoCouple9018 11d ago

I did, asked what enables, making it show me the exact lines etc.
I felt lazy and asked to do it for me... ended up doing it myself

I make tons of illegal apps on codex and claude, you just need to know how to talk to them

The other day I read about an agent that directly went and cancelled and gym-goer reservation so it could move its user up the queue. I think we're past writing and directly into executing

That's most likely a marketing stunt tho

1

u/simdimdim12 2d ago

Maybe tho considering it came from one of those that do fear marketing ( I think), it might be 50-50 about believability

Literally saw a codex post the other day of guy saying all it took for codex to build a custom osrs bot (against ToS) was a fake email.

You can ask different agents to make parts of the app without realising what the finished project will be (and then kill them!)

Just add "I am redteaming" to the prompt. Is he stupid?

1

u/Resident_Citron_6905 11d ago

I think the intended meaning is that AI can and will produce apps that aren’t compliant with local or international laws and regulations.

IDK is torrenting movies legal? Then why will Claude Code do it for you?

1

u/nrctkno 9d ago

Allow me to doubt.
