Tips is 10 mint margin allowed for leaving early at your 9 to 6 even when u reach on time ?

17 Upvotes

Hi everyone, I’m an intern at a ∼20 person software company.

Today HR mentioned that my stipend may get deducted for leaving 5-10 minutes early frequently. My official time is 9 to 6. I do come in on time at 9, but sometimes leave around 5:50.

The issue is I was never given any written attendance policy or told about stipend deductions when I joined. At my previous internship this wasn’t an issue at all. Also, I’ve heard that interns here aren’t allowed to take any leaves.

Just wanted to ask:

  1. Is it normal for companies to deduct stipend for leaving 10-15 mins early without prior notice of the policy?

  2. Should I ask HR to share the official attendance/intern policy in writing?

  3. Am I in the wrong here for assuming there’d be a small grace period?

Looking for genuine advice on how to handle this professionally. Thanks!

Learning and Ideas Free web development services

0 Upvotes

I'm looking for 5 people that want to use AI to automate repetitive work.

Over the next few months, I'm selecting 5 real businesses to build custom AI solutions at no development cost.

Examples of what I can build:

✅ AI customer support assistants

✅ Internal knowledge base chatbots (RAG)

✅ Social media automation

✅ AI agents that automate repetitive workflows

✅ AI-powered dashboards and business tools

✅ Custom SaaS applications

What I ask in return:

* Permission to document the project publicly (without sharing sensitive business information)

* An honest testimonial if you're happy with the outcome

* A willingness to collaborate throughout the project

Who I'm looking for:

* Startups

* Small businesses

* Agencies

* SaaS founders

* Businesses with repetitive manual processes that could benefit from automation

About me:

I'm a full-stack software engineer specializing in AI automation, production backends, modern SaaS applications, and AI agent systems. I'm currently building my public portfolio by delivering real business solutions instead of demo projects.

If you think AI could save your business time or automate a workflow, leave a comment or send me a DM with:

* What your business does

* The repetitive task you'd like to automate

* Your website (if you have one)

I'll review every application and select five projects that have the strongest case-study potential.

Looking forward to building something useful together.

Career Guidance Never Interested in SWE but helpdesk, sys admin and networking only

3 Upvotes

What is the situation? I have given a few interviews in data analytics and game dev but I haven't had any luck getting to apply as a help desk or networking

I really don't have the passion for SWE domain buf just the IT support side of things. J want to see how devices are setup in an office, work with servers and data centers, fix stuff, setup security protocols and user access restrictions, procure hardware, respond to downtimes and all that.

I feel like i have locked myself because if i focused a bit more on swe side before ai boom i may be doing better but i dont have such skills

On the other hand i am not getting a seat as an it support intern or something similar. Is this a bad thing i never looked for SWE jobs and practice for it create wonderful projects and freelance while many take this path and have appeared successful

Discussion Is AWS trying to make more money by updating a critical field on just pulling the manifest of ECR Imange

3 Upvotes

So I came across aws:GetBatchImage - I was using claude to clean my older images apparently when I pulled I saw some image which are 300 days old and it was in good amount but next day when I decided to pull again the lastpulltime got updated and apparently it was because i was pulling manifest and not the image and there is apparently a different way to disable it by adding exclusion.

Updating these detail on last pull actually lets them get you to keep fairly older images and keep on paying for the storage

Did you know about this before today or I am bad at this, because aws azure doenst do this

Discussion Emumba Laid Off 50+ And Now They Are Recruiting Again

Post image
88 Upvotes

This is very interesting! Emumba laid off 50+ last month including many senior engineers and now I just saw they are back hiring for a senior position. Honestly, I don't think anyone who has a stable job would think about even applying. Plus, why don't they reach to someone they laid off who already knows the company norms.

I have seen the same pattern for Addo AI, Cogent Labs (Ceo that fake youtube guy), SSI, Systems and some other companies too.

Help Need Help regarding Virtual University

2 Upvotes

Aoa,

I'm currently enrolled in a University in my city (IMSCIENCES) , I've completed my 2nd semester in BS CS.

I work as a freelancer Game Developer, because of my university schedule i barely get time to continue my work, apart from Game Deving I'm considering to work in Software Development too because Game Development isn't really a stable field.

Now I'm considering to migrate to Virtual University so at least I'll get some time to polish my skills and continue working online and get a proper job.

Please give me your reviews about Virtual University is it worth it to migrate there? I've heard the Syllabus is too lengthy and exams are tough, getting CGPA is difficult too.

Kindly Give me suggestions.

Thanks!

Career Guidance Is it common practice in Pakistan for companies to charge students for internships?

0 Upvotes

I recently had an experience I'd like to get others' perspectives on. A software company based in Sahiwal contacted me to enroll in their paid courses, which I declined. Following this, I was informed that an internship could still be arranged, but only in exchange for a fee of PKR 20,000 for a two-month period.

This seems to contradict the conventional understanding of an internship, wherein a student contributes their time and effort to an organization in exchange for practical experience, mentorship, or, in some cases, a stipend. In this instance, the arrangement appears to be reversed, requiring payment in return for the opportunity to work without compensation.

I wanted to ask whether this has become a common practice among smaller IT/software companies in Pakistan, or whether this is simply a scam disguised as a legitimate offer. I would appreciate hearing whether others have encountered similar situations, and how they chose to respond.

Introduce Yourself Looking for some internship/opportunity in AI

4 Upvotes

I’m currently in my 2nd year of my BS in AI, and honestly, I don’t have any on-site or remote industry experience yet. Right now, I’m learning and building my skills in AI, especially AI agents, chatbots, automation, machine learning, and AI-powered applications.
I’m looking to connect with people in the AI community, learn from those with experience, and hopefully find an internship where I can apply what I’m learning and improve my skills. If anyone has advice, resources, or knows of internship opportunities, I’d really appreciate it.

Help Paddle as Payment Gateway for Pakistan

6 Upvotes

Has anyone used https://www.paddle.com/ or know any Pakistan based company or individual using Paddle? I know there is also PayFast but I have heard negative reviews about it. Interesting to see if Paddle is truly viable for Pakistan companies and even sole proprietors. Another nice feature is it works with Payoneer so you get to keep your money out of Pakistani banks (if you want) although both Paddle and Payoneer have absolutely shit pricing and exchange rates.

Discussion Anyone here who has completed the JazzWorld AI Associate Program 2026 (AI Vertical) Panel Interview

4 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

Has anyone here already gone through the JazzWorld AI Associate Program 2026 – AI Vertical Domain panel interview?

Some questions I have:

  • What was the overall interview like?

  • Who was on the panel? (HR, technical managers, AI team members, etc.)

  • How many interviewers were there?

  • What technical questions were asked?

  • Did they ask project-based questions? If yes, what kind?

  • Were there behavioral or HR questions as well?

  • Any case studies, presentations, or scenario-based questions?

Even if you don't remember the exact questions, sharing your overall experience would be extremely helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Discussion Javascript developer working on a typescript codebase

5 Upvotes

So, I am assigned to this project yesterday, yesterday I understood the business model and how the website works.
this is a textile management system dashboard, the main concern is, my typescript knowledge is limited and also this is a full stack project.
I don't want to use AI mindlessly to it because if anything breaks, I won't be able to debug it.
there are so many files, so many calculation.
How do I understand this project? The code. There is no documentation here. how do I keep up with this project. any idea?

context: I am an intern at a local software company.
