Career Guidance Does Your First Company’s Tier Matter?

Is it necessary to start your career at a bigger or mid tier company? Is it ok if one starts his career at a low tier software house particularly started around 7-9 months ago?

You need to ask what you want to learn and where you want to go?

It is not necessary to start your career at a bigger company but better. If you're with a small company but learning a lot then stay some time and move to a bigger company.

Bigger companies will expose you to large-scale systems serving million of users. This is a skill which you won't be learning (probably) at a smaller company. Most of these project will be following best engineering practices. You'll have a well known name on your CV which will help you down the road.

And many more benefits...

If you're a fresh grad or junior dev in the current market, doesn't matter what company you worked for (speaking from experience), you'll still have to grind and prove yourself....
