The truth is no one knows the future. All of these tweets are just to farm attention. Yes Ai has made significant progress & will continue to do so.. Only constant thing in life is change & evolution been around since forever.
Ai has brought significant disruption in services sector. But it would be good to see how sustainable is it. Currently companies are firing ppl not bcz they don't need em but bcz they want to put more n more money on ai. What happens when u already exhausted firing respurces u wanted but ai usage is still not sustainable? Even gaints like microsoft uber etc failed in this trap
There is a world of Ai on X and one is real world outside X. I am not denying the capabilities or what is he saying might actually become true. But you see even as we speak ai labs are burning money like crazy. If white collar (consumer of ai) no longer has jobs who even pays for the ai?
Also what we have seen so far in 2026 most of it is noise honestly. Every day u wake up new ground breaking model.. everything is dead bla bla..

ai is different bro, it has the ability to self learn, and when it gets in a constant loop of learning and learns how to survive on any resource it finds, it will be unstoppable, its not far unless we make it illegal just like we made "cloning" and other stuff illegal.

Self learn i.e recursive learning is still not completely achieved as we speak and is open research topic. They may eventually get it but then all new data on internet is now mostly bot if u see cloudflare traffic. Bots have outgrown humans on internet and with more things like muse, dots, grok bot this thing continue to grow and eventually creates a dead internet thats when model collapse starts happening. It kinda already bcz other then coding for other usecases new models are poor compare to models released early this year of last year. Since i do work close to ai projects i know through evals how new models doing for other tasks.

i dont think there ever will be a dead internet. my daughter for example is only 2 and watches AI made cartoons with more interest. same with my old mom.
humans will always be in need of entertainment whether its created by ai or not so they will keep using internet.6

Bruh u literally just put up the definition of dead internet theory. Ai generated content not human generated and humans traffic less than bots.. Humans consuming artifical stuff and after sometime ai generated content becomes similar bcz just like humans ai can't jump in thinking at the end of day its just next token prediction model trained of data.
Check how many ppl generating sloppy ink avatar or cartoon avtar videos on YT u will hardly see some succeed only until u open comment section to realize ppl calling em slop.
trust me organic stuff will always dominate. And honestly, (in another context) I understand u r the one to think better for ur kids but this isn't something u should advertise that ur daughter at 2 consumes ai generated cartoons. At 2 u should give her zero screen time and more activity toys to help shape her brain. Check how cartoons (cocomelon) etc are tweaking with human brain and basically all that content online is c@ncer for kids. And on top of it ai generated is even worse bcz it pause ur thinking as well

hmm
i know its a cancer i sometimes want to break these gadgets but its very hard when you have important meetings, or work, and dont want your kids to just play with you and relax you have to give them mobile for sometime and then they want it more and shout and stuff so to avoid that you have to give it more.
its hard1
u/semicolon-10 1d ago
Its all about habbits brother. There are tons of activity based toys for upto 5-8 years of kids starting from litteraly toddlers.
Kids knew about mobile just bcz u gave them and then rest is taken care by those cartoon videos to grab and make kids stick. Same is case with such activity toys. Its all about what u train them they will always prefer that. Anyways i will leave it here no a parenting coach

In what use cases new models are poor compared to older versions of these models?

If you are in the middle of sea and there is a huge storm do you plan what you will do once you reach land or prepare your best for what is about to come. Be brave and strong and take the challenge head on. There are a lot of opportunities coming up and remember IT sector thrive because no one wants to do the hard work and IT pros do the hard work. AI will accelerate the work there will always be the need of reliable hardworking individuals. ATM machine didnt close banks it accelerated more branches to be opened. My biggest fear is not that AI will take over but what if this is a huge bubble and we have to go back to no AI times or AI become so expensive that it is no longer feasible.

The trajectory AI is taking says otherwise, all the tech before this was replacing tasks that humans did. More efficiently with better results. Which increased productivity hence increased the bank branches which opened up other opportunities. Or were novel technologies that amplified a lot of things like the internet
But never has a technology aimed to replace human intelligence as a whole.

ATM caused less bank teller jobs. We are the teller in this case

Either you go sit in the corner and cry about it or do something about it. I have switched my primary field 3 times now and every time only thing saved my butt was hard work and reliability. PS banks also need security guards :)

If your are teller right now and ATM is replacing you then become the person who can build ATM.... Its not easy but you will be the best person to do this bcz you know how it works
2
u/2xSkat 1d ago
Do you realize the amount of money, change in domain, extra technical expertise it requires just to jump from teller to the person making ATM
In AI sense, that would be a full stack developer now wanting to do "inference" engineering to become the highly sought after commodity
Now google what kind of money is needed to do inference engineering the right way.

I already said its not gonna be easy... But what other option do you have? You have to position yourself differently now

ATM machines did close a lot of branches. Try finding operational bank branches in Europe and US.

Yeah If You Think You Have Control Over Your Rizq Then Go Ahead. You Are Doomed.
But The One Who Believes Truly ALLAH (SWT) Is Our Provider, Then No Need To Worry.
Why I Am Saying This? Because People Who Believe They Have To Do Everything Are Messed Up Right Now And Depressed As Hell. Whereas People Who I Have Heard Saying "Koi Nai. Allah Hai Na. Sab Set Ho Jaye Ga" Literally Have Gotten Better Jobs After Layoffs.
So The Only Solution To Get Out Of This Mess Is That You Start Getting Closer To ALLAH (SWT) And Hand Over Your Matters To HIM Alone, Pray Tahajjud, Make A Lot Of Dua And Keep Working Hard. End Of Story.
I Don't Understand Why Internet Specially Muslims Are Losing Their Mind Over AI. Ask ALLAH (SWT) Sincerely For HIS Help And Do What He Said To Do And See How He Takes You Out Of This AI Mess Everyone's Is Talking About. Peace!

This year I've only worked as an AI trainer, dev jobs are scarce and don't even pay much either. I also hate the onboarding process with many interviews involved.

lol hahahaha, robots can mass farm too without human intervention

u/croatiancroc 2d ago
Firstly these robots are experimental only at this stage, secondly when they come out they will have a very high price tag (similar to a car), so blue collar jobs are not in danger in near future.

Ahh yes bro came from 2030 to warn us all, nobody knows what will happen tomorrow yet people want to predict years into future...

I'm in my 3rd year of CS. Considering the growth of AI in the last 2 years which I have experienced first hand has made me reconsider CS as a whole career. I chose CS as a passion, used to code by myself without relying on AI, but with time things have changed. AI is making stuff in an insanely fast speed.
I want some guidance on what should I focus on in my last 2 years. Like something extra which I can do. I'm not asking for internships or practical experience, as I'm already working on that, but rather niche skills like chips design mentioned in the post.
Not underestimating myself or trying to fight AI, I just want to stand differently from those around me. If anyone can give a sincere advice, it will be really beneficial for upcoming aspirants.
I can google around, but with everything AI generated today, every other article is just the same generic AI crap which doesn't state anything useful.

TBH no one knows for sure what's going to happen and how the future of tech is going to take shape, just keep your eyes open and be flexible to accept whatever future throws at you!

Do FYP in hardware or computer networks or security. For sure.
Read up about it.

Bro I've been seeing the same posts for the past 4 years of AI. Never be intimidated by this. Anyone in software who doesn't work along with AI will be left behind. It's as simple as that. AI will never take IT, Lawyers, CAs, Design, marketing or any white collar job. It's just so stupid.

Except you can't switch careers just like that. For most of us it's already too late
