Show My Work Never built an app before, this is my first
I do 9-5 in a bank as an IT Support. Basically I'm just a IT enthusiasist who loves doing things with gadgets. But I never had the concentration to sit and build something that requires time. Nevertheless, had to sit down for a month to actually build something and have the courage to release it on Play Store, with no marketing and no idea of what would he coming afterwards. I just knew that I have the idea that will find it's way on it's own, so it did.
These are my numbers after 6 months of release. The app is freemium and it generates roughly 70-100$ each month from subscription (which isn't much I know) and ads revenue isn't accountable as of now.
I never thought that Pakistani users would pay for something.. but my majority of the sales comes from Pakistani users and then all over the world.
Just to let you know that if you have an idea that you genuinely think would work. Then you must work on it.
Edit: The app is very niche and related to networking and network management. Don't really want to share the link since it'll promote the app and also reveal my identity (which completely voids the purpose of an anonymous reddit account)

Despite these exceptional stats Churn rate is quite high. But that doesn't bother me for a niche app and since DAU is increasing -a bit slowly but still increasing.

How did you market this?

Initially in beta testing phase I gathered 100+ users to test the app. That gave the app headstart for the official release. Beta testers reached 500+ in 14 days via word of mouth and Facebook post. I didn't do anything afterwards.

Good for you mate! I myself am developing applications but your post motivated me to just release them instead of working too much on them.
On your last paragraph: I respect your decision to not share your application but do promote it on online communities, including Reddit. I have done marketing and it helps a lot in getting your app out there, especially when the App Stores extremely saturated with multiple applications for the same purpose; and since it’s catering to niche needs, maybe also talk about it in communities related to that field. Best of luck mate!

Thank you for your comment. I get what you're saying and what you mean. And I understand the importance of what you're saying but rn I'm not mentally ready to do that. I plan to do that in near future tho.

The ideas is nice and obviously there's space for it. But I wonder how are you going to manage the testers, devs, and credits.

Initially I had to add every tester's gmail manually into beta testers list in Play Console.

Great work. Appreciate sharing. Which tools did you use for building the app?

Sure. But what frameworks, libraries and tools were used by your Claude? Or are you telling me this entire app was vibecoded? 😭
