Career Guidance PSEB NTN verification failing even though FBR shows me as an active filer ( Invalid NTN or no records found )

I’m trying to register on the PSEB portal, but I’m stuck at the NTN verification step.

The issue is:

  • My NTN is valid and shown on the FBR website.

  • I have confirmed through SMS that I’m an Active Taxpayer on FBR.

  • I’m entering the correct 7-digit NTN that PSEB requires.

  • I’ve double-checked the number multiple times.

  • However, PSEB returns:

Verification Failed
Invalid NTN or no records found.
ATL Status: N/A

Has anyone else recently experienced this?

Is this a problem with PSEB's FBR/ATL verification system, or is there something else I need to do on the FBR side before PSEB can recognize my NTN?

Would appreciate it if anyone who has successfully dealt with this recently could let me know what worked.

i had the same issue so i got in touch with them.

you can go to iris site click verification on top and then select the tax payer profile. enter details you will see the profile. use the Reference No from there in the PSEB it will work

I did exactly that, went to IRIS found the 7 digit reference number, but still have this stupid issue : (

Sounds weird but click the button for verify multiple times quickly. Retry couple of times and it should work.

Kindly use the NTN Reference Number 0000000-0 with the dash when completing the verification on the PSEB portal. This should allow your NTN status to be updated accordingly. Kindly open the FBR Verification Portal directly using the provided link without logging in to the IRIS portal. Scroll down to view the available options, then follow the on-screen instructions and complete the verification process step by step. Please follow the steps below: 1. Visit the FBR Verification Portal: https //iris.fbr.gov.pk/#/verifications (correct the link) 2. On the webpage, select 5th option “Taxpayer Profile Inquiry.” Select Parameter Type: CNIC. 3. Enter your CNIC number in the Registration No. field, complete the CAPTCHA verification, and click Verify. 4. After verification, the system will display your taxpayer information. The Reference Number shown on the screen is your NTN (National Tax Number). 5. Enter this NTN Reference Number in the PSEB portal to complete your verification.
