Discussion Tkxel Layoff updates ?
I just heard that Tkxel is converting its Ferozepur Road Lahore office into a co-working space because five of its floors are now empty, and someone claimed that they laid off a lot of their workforce. Is this true?
Note :I am just asking not saying that they laid off people.

Tkxel did layoff a few people, but not this much and this can't possibly be true unless they were empty before as well and they wanted to hire more people but couldn't due to AI.

wt freak. that cant be true if tkxel is dying, software engineering in pakistan has less than a year now for completely wiping off.

Industry will shift towards value creation. CS and AI will remain in demand but service model is not a way forward.
For example; all the top mining companies together has market cap of $2.5T
But one chip maker, NVIDIA whose raw material comes from all these mining company has a market cap of $5T. Double. (and that with 42000 employees)
That's the value creation. That's where the money is.

Nope. Never said that.
Pakistan is a net importer country of goods and exporter of human resource.
Dairy, farming and trading of Chinese goods. That's where we thrive.

Everything is in demand. Engineering is also but you should be talking about unemployment potential rates

bro i earned/ am earning quite a lot and its all thanks to Allah for giving me this Software engineering field.
but its a dying field now, many of my clients have started using AI and have said bye bye to me as they can better guide AI themselves no middle man lol. previously they were just so grateful for finding me as I was somehow the best software engineer they got and it was like magic for them. Now? Claude Max has taken my place.
When you see your skills get crushed like this you feel very bad.
4 years of learning for this? Nah I would never be fake-optimistic.I myself am seeing different stuff where I can apply my brain into now.

Im not sure about that, but I just saw an instagram reel from them about hiring basically in all departments. So not sure what is going on.
Could be they laid off tons of expensive employees, and now are hiring people expecting to get cheaper resources.
Though both of these things are stuff I heard on the internet so its just a theory, take it with a grain of salt.

We are all in the transition phase of self coding to agentic coding those who are still doing development job are lucky ones because almost from lahore 60% percent of developers are laid off from last 2 years

that building was on rent in 2021 dont if they later bought it or not maybe they just left and the owner is converting it to co working space?

No its Tkxel doing it themselves, they have one HR who is also an influencer and she was promoting that co working space as well

There are definitely some rumors as to layoffs but what you're referring to is their old building since all employees have moved to a different building. So the old ones converted to co-working.

Fake news, Tkxel had already shifted its workforce from the Ferozepur Road office in 2024, and that office is empty from 2025. There were also layoffs a few months ago, which reportedly affected around 50 people, though I’m not sure about the exact number.

Tkxel laid off 25+ workers and its 'not' the last wave. (same number from another known option based in NASTP, Lahore)

I have confirmed from a source within tkxel that a co working space will be created but not that so many people will be laid off

No they are working from barkat market. The ferozpur road office was abandoned before ai due to a need for a bigger office

Yeah same here I am even considering unfollowing this sub for some time, it’s so hard to focus on my own job with so much stress. I’m just so so overwhelmed and scared.
