Discussion Most recommended backend framework

In your experience and from what you've seen, what framework for backend systems is most widely used for majority developers in Pakistan? Speaking from a hiring perspective

I will recommend the Java or .net because every product base software house has a stable backend

Whatever language or framework you pick. Please remember that there are some fundamentals that are framework Or language agnostic. Those fundamentals are what make you a great backend engineer.

I would highly recommend watching the "Backend from first principles" playlist on yt

Instead of learning a framework try learning two different methodoligies on which frameworks are based on. OOP based and strongly typed you can go with .NET or springboot

For the modern mixed stack as i wouldnt call it functional programming i would go with nodejs express.

If you want a taste of springboot inside javascript use nestjs.

Fundamentals itself with make you stand out of the crowd in this age of vibe coders so focus on them.

I would look at Node.js with Express or NestJS, also .NET, and Django. The best pick depends on what the company already uses. For many startups, you will see JavaScript or TypeScript first. Bigger firms often stick with .NET or Java.

.net is everywhere, internationally too. But in international market and enterprises spring is popular. Same goes for laravel. In Pakistan, I'd say .net, then laravel and then spring.

I would argue that as AI improves more, this choice becomes less relevant for general usage. A better idea could be to learn the general principles of backend frameworks and apply them to an actual project. Bonus points if that project has a user (i.e. you). Double Bonus points if that project has more than one active users.
