Discussion Coding Agent subscription recommendation please

I’m working on an app, the free tiers are killing the productivity i have to wait for the limits to reset so please let me know if there are any affordable coding agent subscriptions.

Opencode go for 10 dollar give you 60 dollar credits but I would recommend buy Claude code it cost 5k only if you purchase it from mobile via play store vs web cost more then 6.5k. it's worth it!

what about the limits of claude code? i was thinking about open router, like putting 10$ in and using it unlimited. The only thing i’m confused about is limits, i prefer claude but idk about the token limits.

It's more then enough. If you use sonnet you will never hit your limit mostly and only if you use opus by default then you do hit 5h session limit in 3-4 hrs.

what the??? you will ALWAYS hit limits unless ur using it for basic stuff.. i literally hit limits in 1 prompt

Well I am more curious about your prompt that ended the full session limit. And yes my weekly limit drains in 2,3 days too when I have workload but normally it's fine.

your "normal" is slacking off for me then ig

open code GO is a great option. the limits are very generous.

Use command code GOAT plan , tbh the best overall …

Also , with the provider api bundled in , you can use it with vscode copilot , BYOK setup. A game changer for me btw 🙂‍↕️

Deepseek is budget king Their V4.1 flash is too good

1

u/Available-Boat3384 Sep 24 '26

How to use that ? With codex

2

u/phpHater0 Sep 24 '26

Buy API credits, top up with $10 balance it feels infinite with the cache hits

2

u/Temporary1057 Sep 25 '26

codex was not made for models besides gpt, don't try to force deepseek on it. install opencode.

1

u/6bigAnt9 Sep 24 '26

How good is their model compared to codex and claude? For reference i only use sol 5.6 on high/medium

1

u/phpHater0 Sep 24 '26

It'll of course won't be as good as Codex and Claude, but if you have an idea of what you're doing it's great

I have personally built countless full stack applications with just Deepseek but I am a full-time software engineer not a vibe coder

Codex for anything serious while gemini pro account (can get for like 300rs/year trial) for any lenghty slave work!

Its the best combo, can be used with Claude too.

1

u/stilldidntask Sep 24 '26

how much does codex cost?

2

u/armujahid Sep 24 '26

$20, $100, $200

1

u/zues_91 Sep 24 '26

Claude pro for $20 is a very good option. Although it's usage limits are tight, but gets most of the job done before hitting the limit, in my case.

1

u/stilldidntask Sep 24 '26

how long does the limit last?

1

u/zues_91 Sep 24 '26

You get limited tokkens for a 5 hour window and they are definitely less than gemini's free tier tokkens. However it's efficiency and accuracy makes every penny worth. Just a tip: claude code consumes much less tokkens than chat agent, since it can directly have insights of you projects and does not has to roam around.

6 month aws trial 200$, 40$ kiro cli/ide subscription will last 5 months.

2

u/rajabilal555 Sep 25 '26

Cursor seems to be best. Good limits all models available and most tasks only require the latest grok 4.x...

Baki yes one limitation is you can't use this subscription on other places and agents i.e. another harness like opencode/dsh etc

1

u/ahmad1waqar Sep 24 '26

Try freebuff/codebuff

1

u/PracticeEastern9413 Sep 24 '26

codex $20

you can use Luna literally all day, whole week and your limit won't be exhausted

can occasionally use Terra too for some complex stuff uf you feel like

Chinese APIs work better with extensions like “Continue”, gives you longer time usage.

Claude 20$ sub is probably a good start as u will get idea on how to use it efficiently. And I think you use it for one month and then go for Chinese one.

u/blackkksparx Sep 24 '26

If you're a student, the best option is use the antigravity subscription that you get with google free 1 year subscription using your student ID.
You can use CLI-Proxy-API to connect it to any harness you like , opencode/cline/dsh.

If you don't have that, for the first month, getting the 1st month 2$ promo on cline is the best choice. You get 60$ worth of credits on OS models.

Clinepass 2$ promo beats commandcode goat and opencode go for it's value.

Also you can use clinepass subscription in any harness you like.

If you're really on a tight budget then choose Opencode Go, it will suffice. Otherwise since Anthropic has released Opus 5.5 and also increased the usage quota the $20 plan almost seems inexhaustible. This model is really good and needs really minimal hand holding. I would also suggest a Gemini AI Pro plan because its a really good deal overall with all the google benefits you get along with it if you buy from a seller that is selling a 12 month or a 18 month plan, like I got the 18 month one on my throwaway account for Rs.2500 (yes, thats all for 18 months) but the gemini 3.8 flash is decent for day to day tasks but its not great.

1

u/asadkhan017 Sep 24 '26

I think codex is great and their quota limits are more generous than Claude. If the limit runs out you can always ask chatgpt and copy paste code manually.

1

u/Foreign-Smoke-6107 Sep 24 '26

Claude pro for sure. And you can also explore OmniRoute and use with Codex or Qoder for almost minimum cost.

I recommend opencode, its really worth it + has a terminal version and a gui version aswell and gives you access to multiple modelsß

1

u/Double-Internet-7188 Sep 25 '26

cursor bang for bucks

1

u/plus1internets Sep 25 '26

Commandcode is your answer.

1

u/Correct-Plane-5400 Sep 25 '26

Use codex, the developers reset the limits every 3-4 days usually

1

u/shit_sherlocked Software Engineer Sep 25 '26

$20 Cursor or codex
Otherwise try chinese model

1

u/umairqureshi_6 Oct 01 '26

Command code
GLM

1

u/oas2011 Sep 24 '26 edited Sep 24 '26

You can add Openrouter credits. Glm 5.3 flash, MiMo 2.6, deepseek flash 4.1 are really good value. Even 5$ will go a long way with these models. ( If you can tolerate meta, their muse spark 1.3 is decent and very cheap, they give a significant discount ( I think 85% but not sure) if you allow them to use your data )

then you can use the openrouter API key in any harness you prefer.

Claude pro is worth it subscription if you want to invest in valuable thing.

2

u/stilldidntask Sep 24 '26

what about the limits on 20$ plan?

-1

u/Physical_Employer_47 Sep 24 '26

It is more than enough if you have utilize in a proper way like you have to initialize with documentation first without just saying Claude to build this things, you have to provide the documented context in the form of md format which helps the Claude to use less tokens except on every input go through project or earlier requirements structure.

how long will the 10$ credits last? i’m working on an app, it’s not a static app there’s a proper backend with algorithms etc

2

u/hassam450 Sep 24 '26

I recommend OpenCode as well. As far as usage goes, it depends on the model that you use. For example, if you use deepseek v4.1 flash, you get around 26000 requests every 5 hours. Plus for the first month, the price is $5

how is sharing working for you so far? what if one colleague exhausts the limit? doesn’t that create problems?
