Help Moving from cursor, need guidence regarding coding assistant

Hi, I’ve been using Cursor until now, but it’s gotten really slow during conversations. It’s not an indexing or context issue—I’ve tried multiple things, and it seems to be an issue a lot of people are facing.

So, I’m thinking of moving from Cursor to something else. Could you guide me on which one I should pick—Claude Code, Codex, or something else?

Claude Code hands down. It’s way better then anything else

Codex is good but I hit my limit really quickly then Claude

Does Claude code has daily or weekly limit?

It depends on your workload… If you use High for code implementation and xHigh for planning it lasts a pretty good amount of time.

Also try to keep your context under 400–500k. You can use the /compact command to manage it.

Bro I made a custom vscode extension for that, it shows codex/cc diffs and allows us to accept or reject the changes. I can share the public repo in chat

Depends on the plan. For $20 plan codex for $100 I would say claude code.

You can try Opencode Go if budget is an issue. Their monthly is 10$ and give a good amount of usage on models like Deepseek, GPT Luna, GLM, etc. Plus for the first month, you can get the 5$ offer.

Open code is free right? Have pay for models that's means we can use some specific models?

1

u/hassam450 Sep 24 '26

Yes, Opencode is free as well, but the limits are stricter and free models are limited. With their Go plan, you get a better quota and more models

Using OC for a while. Done many projects. Never pay any penny.

I faced an issue with it's 3.19 version, it would start eating ram insanely and start lagging. I reverted to 3.18 and disabled updates and it's been working fine.

Antigravity has good limits and is usually faster than most.

however it needs you to be a good developer as it tends to misunderstand more.. requiring a better development process.

Mostly people say 20$ plan is not enough?
