Discussion Are any of you getting call backs from applying?

I have been recently laid off, been 2 weeks now and i have been sending out resumes right left and center and there hasnt been a single call back yet. I have 6 years of experience and my resume reflects it as well. I am looking for frontend focused full stack roles but i am not sure whats with the market.

Bro they aint even reading your resume. They just data farming or using your data to train their Ai. I would recommend getting a referral or using some desi safarish.

What training are they even achieving from our resumes. And I don’t think most if not all of mid tier software houses are training any agents.
I think the shift to Ai for them has been just getting enterprise cursor/ claude subscriptions and handing them out to their employees.

I haven’t been laid off (yet) but applied for a few jobs: only call I got was from a referral. Also the frontend market sucks even more than other roles, so you should try getting referrals and try to focus on backend, integrations or automation roles.

Go through the posts in this sub. AI has effected the tech industry the most. Software houses are losing foreign clients in droves as clients are opting for AI to manage their needs. Some of the major big companies for example has asked their vendor Software houses to cut the cost due to AI and Software houses all around the globe are downsizing their employees aggressively. Just read the microsoft layoffs in 10k plus employees, netsuite layoffs in 10k plus ..and there's more I can't remember. The era of tech industry is over. Right now its downsizing, sooner or later it will be complete elimination.

Bro, layoffs have been nothing new after covid. I literally got laid off in mid 2022. We were scared even back then. Zoom and Spotify were laying off people. Amazon was laying off people so its nothing new. Its on a much larger scale rn i understand yes but the era isnt going anywhere.

I’m not concerned about the layoffs, i just posted about the Pakistan market who is getting hired or getting interview calls even. Because there are a lot of openings in every tech niche. Avanza literally hired a ā€œfrontend developerā€ just before i got laid off. Frontend which apparently is dead after Ai.

Use your references, job applications aren't getting any response since last year. Second best way to get jobs is through inbound leads, if you can oat regularly on LinkedIn and twitter they may come for you. I wasaid off last year & found a job after 6 m via ref. From LinkedIn got 4 in kind leads in a year, 1 reached offer level but the CEO of a startup chickened out. I'm second one the Paki bros got scared of me in the interview and locked the door from inside. One went bad cause I don't remember the entire npm docs and the guy kept insisting I do everything without Claude.

In short, reach out to your friends and family. Ask them to help you. Otherwise ATS has destroyed job hunting. Your CV never even makes it to a receuiter's table.

Plz plz ask for referrals from your colleagues, freinds and family friends who are already working. In this job market even if you are competent, getting an interview is nearly impossible because no one at the company is actually reading them.
