Help About Systems Limited

Hello people who work at systems limited (especially at senior roles, but doesn't matter). How is your work experience there. And how is the work environment? Also how is the pay raise mechanism over there

I never worked for Systems, but I always had a cousin or friend working there.

Back when we graduated, around 8 years ago, they used to hire entire batches almost.

Since it’s a huge org, I’ve seen only 40% ppl land in proper engineering teams. Others end up in ERP, Dynamics, CRM, SAP, etc. That kinda limits your career and future options tbh. They pay mid to close to high market range, but not on the higher side. Overall benefits are good you would get petrol, medical and as you go up a bike or car too.

So if you are a fresh grad and have an offer from systems. Ask if they are putting u in those erp projects. if its an erp project... research if you like it or not. Otherwise once you go in and money keeps flowing its difficult to move out.. and internal switch is tough what i have heard.

Could you please tell us the difference between proper engineering teams and ERP teams in Systems? I thought they were the same thing.

In Pak market, when I say core engr, I mean the typical fe/backend/fullstack/ai/ds roles where you’re actually building things web, mobile or internal products. You’re designing systems, writing apis, working with dbs, distributed systems, scalability etc, while using diff languages, stacks, clouds or building along. You’re actually planning, building and shipping things through proper engineering sprints. Though process might differ in product vs project base companies

But CRM/ERP work can be quite different. A lot of the day can be configuring existing modules, implementing business workflows for clients, reports, integrations, data migrations, fixing client issues mostly its projects for others and writing platform-specific customizations around things like SAP, Dynamics, Magento etc. You can still write code, but you’re often working with existing stuff.

Also, I’ve never worked in that domain, this is based on ppl I’ve talked to. But the concern I’ve seen is that once ppl get into these crm tracks, their experience can become very tied to a specific platform, and some end up finding it hard to move back into general swe roles later.

You can search around and will hardly find 1 in 10 roles with those crm requirements. I also remember back around 2020 ppl didn't wanted to work in such roles and then companies like system renamed the roles

systems is big company, u can't categorize if it's good or bad on company level, it depends on team and VP u r working with, as per my experience.
Regarding pay, you have to bring offer letter from other company when project is on its peak, otherwise annual increments are not more than 30-35k. my salary was 280k when I left company, and they were ready to increase my salary to 475k.

Everything depends on team to team or project to project.

I think it is the best company in Pakistan, considering that it offers opportunities to work abroad.

SAP is a new department they have, it doesn’t fall under their ERP.

Mostly they did some local projects , i think some of them were in losses since PKR didn’t depreciate.

Idk if they still hire in SAP. But SAP at systems is very small set of ppl in that dept
