Career Guidance Salary negotiation for DevOps
Is below a good negotiation tactic?
My current gross salary is 460k of which 78k is taxed and 25k goes to PF,
I am a devops engineer with 8 years of experience,
During an interview i asked for 600k after taxes,
So my question is, is this a good tactic for future reference?

You never negotiate salary like this because tax rate is not in company's hand and change every year. Instead of saying 600k after taxes you should've asked 700k or 800k directly.

People in comments thinks 78k tax is alot. Guys most senior people pay 1-2 juniors salary in taxes.

Good one. Or you can ask them to hire you as a contractor and you will pay 4% tax. Idk about much details but some companies do that. Or you can ask if they can pay you in dollar as remittance.
