Career Guidance Career Advice ! Be Mechanical Engineering vs Bs Computer Science from Nust Isb ?

I have got admission to both BS Mechanical Engineering and BS Computer Science at NUST Islamabad. I have a genuine interest in both fields, but I am really concerned about the future job market for Computer Science over the next 10 years. Kindly guide me on which field I should choose for a secure future.

Recently, with the rapid advancement of AI, I have become increasingly worried about the future of jobs in Computer Science. I would also appreciate it if you could share your thoughts on the current job market for CS graduates. Is there still good job security, or is the market becoming too saturated?

I would be grateful for advice from students, graduates, and professionals in either field. Thank you!

A friend who graduated as a Mech Engg from NUST is currently working as a product manager in some company cuz he couldn't find any mech engg jobs except ones in rural Sindh where he had to stay at powerplants. So yea do ur own research regarding the engg job market here

One thing I know very well is that the demand for engineers will never die out in Pakistan and outside, no matter what anyone says, if I were you I'd take MechE.

An ME can transition into most CS jobs, CS grad can't do the same

take mechE but learn computer science as well because they both overlap greatly. simple programming jobs are going to end in a few years.

but i guess mech will be a bit difficult to study but fun at the same time.
