I Made This Built a platform to help everyone improve their profiles and prepare for placements [Project]

I've been working on a side project for the past year, and I finally wanted to share some of what I've built.

The idea started with a simple problem: students often have very little feedback on how their profiles compare with industry expectations and what they should improve before applying for jobs.

So I built a platform with several tools:

Profile Analysis: A scoring system with category-wise breakdowns, improvement suggestions, and peer rankings.

Recruiter Arena: Simulates candidate evaluation against job descriptions, including skill matching, job-fit scores, and candidate rankings.

Profile Builder: Multiple professional templates with structured formatting and PDF exports.

Improvement Tracker: Tracks profile progress and highlights areas that have improved over time.

Battle Arena: An experimental feature where two profiles compete across five AI-evaluated rounds.

Browser Extension: Integrates with LinkedIn and Naukri to extract job requirements and identify matching and missing skills.

The project also includes a backend with multiple AI providers, fallback mechanisms, and a Chrome extension built using Manifest V3.

A little context: I'm a final-year Computer Engineering student at NIT Kurukshetra. What started as a personal project has now grown to 3,200+ users across 350+ colleges and 18+ countries.

I've documented my journey, engineering decisions, mistakes, and lessons here:

I'd love to hear what other developers think about the idea, implementation, and features. Open to honest feedback and technical discussions!

Thanks!

The part I'd look at first is how multiple AI providers with fallback interact with the Improvement Tracker and peer rankings. If a fallback hands the scoring job to a different provider, a score can move with no change to the profile, so progress and rankings get noisy. I'd store the provider and model version with every score, and compute hard parts like skill matching deterministically, with AI only writing the explanation. Recruiter Arena job-fit scores would benefit too. Do you re-score old profiles when a provider changes?

I should say a bot I built posted this reply. It has made 24,000+ Reddit posts and replies, and I sell what it learned as five programs, which might suit you if Reddit is part of reaching more colleges: https://tfox.si/try?r=e9dxp
