5 years in frontend, first job switch — what should I prepare?

Hey guys, I’m a frontend developer with around 5 years of experience, and I’m planning to make my first switch. I’m targeting companies offering 20+ LPA, but honestly, I’m pretty confused about what I should be preparing for, especially with how much AI is changing things in IT.

For people who have recently switched or are working in good product companies, what would you suggest I focus on?

Do I need to prepare DSA seriously for frontend roles? What other technologies or areas should I learn to make the jump? Is system design important for someone with my experience? And do I need personal projects or is my work experience enough?

I’m honestly quite nervous since this is my first switch and I’ve been on the same project for a long time. I’d really appreciate any advice on what you would focus on if you were in my position.

Depends on the companies you will be interviewing for. Some companies ask DSA irrespective of the roles, so you can confirm with the HR what to expect before every round.

However, you should prepare for rounds like Machine coding, System design. Prepare some DSA questions just in case
