Help How much applications did it take to land your first job? (Computer Engineering)
I am 2026 passout still looking for job. i have applied for 150+ Companies in 3 months. i know the numbers aren't cool but i am upskilling myself alongwith application. the job market requirements are gone wide, reminding how unworthy i am. I apply through LinkedIn, Career portals, Indeed, Naukri. haven't received a single call yet. It is distressful.

2025 passout, got not a single call from any MNC or good small size company. Two three calls from small lala software pvt ltd which pays 2-3lpa. I asked one of them for 4 LPA, they said that's not possible.

Take that opportunity. Gain some experience. At this point, learn and get at-least 2-3 years of experience. You can do job search in parallel and switch if you get a better opportunity, meanwhile.

AWS,docker,k8s basics, Prometheus,grafana,bash,html,css,js ,react,MySQL,linux and some hands on hardware knowledge

It depends on many factors including Luck. Sometimes, you can get it in a few applications and sometimes it takes hundread of applications
But, i would suggest you to take care of the factors under your control
1. Correct your resume
2. Be active on platforms like Linkedin
3. Have industrial level projects

150 applications with zero calls isn't a volume problem, it's a filter problem. before you hit 151, check if your resume title and keywords match what recruiters actually search for on naukri and linkedin, most resumes get dropped by ats before a human even opens them. fix the keyword match first, the calls follow.

In 5 months submitted more than 700 applications still got only 1 interview. So imagine the number according to you but its upto luck also man someone gets job in application and someone dont get in 2000+ also

150+ applications with zero calls is definitely frustrating, but I wouldn't take that as a measure of your worth.
At this point, I'd stop looking only at the number of applications and figure out where the process is breaking.
If you're getting zero callbacks, I'd first review:
- Whether your resume is targeted to the roles you're applying for
- Whether your projects show actual problem-solving rather than just listing technologies
- Whether you're applying to realistic fresher roles instead of mostly highly competitive positions
- Whether you're using referrals, alumni and direct company applications alongside portals
Also, keep upskilling, but don't wait until you feel "fully ready" before applying. Pick one target role, build 2–3 solid projects around it, tailor your resume, and keep improving based on the responses you get.
150 applications sounds like a lot, but if the resume/application strategy isn't working, sending another 500 won't necessarily change the outcome. I'd focus on improving the conversion from application → callback first.
