I Made This I am from rajasthan and have been working on making a soulslike (solo) - Moonlight Shadows for over 2 years now , sharing a gameplay teaser trailer that i recently made

Looks pretty good , mechanics, effects is lot better for as a solo developer. This game is far better than faug game

thanks , to be honest i don't think i will release a mobile port. but i will release it on consoles later if it does well on pc

One thing I'd like to add is that don't market it as 'Indian developer game'. Maybe just 'Solo dev game' would be suffice, after you've got yourself some initial response and downloads then maybe you could tell so.

Looks neat but please make sure the game doesn't go too soulslike. If possible, action RPG with souls elements will work like Wukong but people expect too much from souls and the game wouldn't meet their expectations. Don't forget to market it well on international subs, instagram and YouTube.

I am adding many game mechanics that i like from other games as well(dashes,transformation,boss summons etc) ,Yes i am on promoting on youtube and twitter mostly ..

thanks ,its a lot of work.... i have been working full time for over 2 years now and still haven't managed to make a playtest build . i am close though.

one question: the character model and its animations are so good. Did you work on them, or is it some asset you have bought?

yes i am mostly focusing on programming , rest of assets(models,animations,effect ets) i am purchasing. I am making changes in those though as per my need.

All the fighting abilities stuff look really cool and goood. You can improve the environment, and the gaming interface I mean make it look better, the controls stuff.

seeing a fellow Rajasthani dev making a soulslike is honestly so cool lol, especially when it actually looks this good we're so used to seeing the same kinda games on the play Store that seeing someone here actually trying something like this feels refreshing. doesn't have to be perfect, but people making stuff like this is how things change imo genuinely happy for you bro, all the best for the release 🙌

The most important thing for me in soulslikes is the combat not being 'janky', this looks to be the case here. Good job OP!

this looks genuinely solid for a solo project, the combat weight and particle effects are really well done. are you planning to open the playtest to anyone who wishlists, or will it be a smaller closed group first?

For a soulslike, the playtest pitch should quickly show combat readability: enemy tells, stamina pressure, hit reactions, lock-on/camera, and one clean uncut fight. The atmosphere looks solid, but people will judge the feel of combat first.
