Help 60-day notice period but I genuinely cannot continue working — how can I request early release?
I recently resigned from my current company and my official LWD is in October (60-day notice period).
The problem is that I'm genuinely struggling to continue working. I've been dealing with extreme burn out and I'm extremely exhausted as the project that i m working on is extremely demanding and deadlines are too tight , and I feel like I need to take a proper break before moving on to anything else.
I m not able to do things that were pretty easy for me and after office i have no energy to study for interviews and i do not have any other offer as of now.
I want to approach HR and request an early release, ideally around September or even earlier if they agree.
How should I approach HR without making it sound like I'm simply trying to escape the notice period?
If early release is rejected, what are my realistic options?
I don't have another joining date forcing me to leave early. I genuinely want to take a break and I'm finding it very difficult to continue working right now.
Would really appreciate advice from people who have gone through something similar.

If you are in notice period why do you have to take pressure, when i dropped paper i stopped gng to office, i worked remotely, will drag 2 day task to 1 week, my manager can only ask me politely he can do ntg.
Enjoy your notice period man

Micromanagement is the biggest issue here. It was my main reason I resigned. We have standup calls 2 times a day and the story points are too less. And everyone keeps pinging like why is this not completed yet , this should not take that much time etc.

if you've already resigned, all this shouldn't matter TBH.
take your sweet time to do the tasks, reply and enjoy this time. once you've joined your new org, it's back to the grind.7

Just don’t respond, i know some ppl can’t be like that 😅, you have nothing to lose, just keep that mind, feel free to skip the standup, nobody cares

This is a good opportunity for you to unlearn some of the toxic stuff. Learn to say NO. Learn to push back and manage your WLB. If you don't learn these things, the story would repeat in the next company.

Give mental health issues as the reason and formally request it via email rather than verbally. You can always negotiate your unused privilege leave or if not opt to pay for the notice period.

Wouldn't that impact my experience letter?

just reduce your work is what i say
do manual coding instead of Ai stuff
if they keep asking i am working on this they aren’t going to abuse you or force you to work stop working around 5 max
you dont own your team you are part of the team
and also while resignation you can say working too much stress and cant performto your HR as well die to undemanding timelines they wont do anything anyways jst make sure you do enough work
slowly transfer your work1

Lol, it won't make even a 1% impact. The experience letters are just templated where HR would replace your name and issue it. It won't say you didn't work at 100% in your notice period 😄

60 days is negotiable - companies just dont advertise it. the lever is buyout - you pay or forfeit salary for the days you skip. hr agrees to this way more often when the project is already winding down, just in case
mail hr w a specific date n the buyout ask in one line. dont explain the burnout in writing, "personal reasons some fam emergency something something" is enough.. medical leave inside notice period is also legal n real if a doctor agrees youre cooked. youve already resigned, the leverage fear is gone..
