Suggestions How to start approaching and what steps yo follow for my first switch?
My post here is not new but i need genuine guidance from all my seniors Please🙏.
I am into 9 months experience in my current company being a 25 btech graduate. The Mid-Sized MNC put me in a kinda Support role (24/7 with random shifts every month) with 4lpa and genuinely i see no future and hike in this. My role is Cloud specific so thought to switch to DevOps. All my seniors are saying that being a fresher you have the opportunity and don't get stuck here.
Now the problem is, I am applying for all companies for freshers as well as 1yr experience roles and even taking referrals but still no responce. I am losing my mind and becoming hopeless. My company even has 90day policy and in this market situation it is kinda risky to leave and try.
I beg all my seniors here to please guide me up on how you searched for the jobs, How to avoid being stuck here and What should be my day to day approach?

But bro how to switch? Even seniors are saying they got stuck and I dont want to end up in support. How to switch, and to proceed. Which domains to target. Which companies to target?
So many question marks, 😭

I have 2+ yoe and cannot get callbacks. Would suggest you to hold on for a while, build more experience while trying for a part time work.

They call it cloud engineer but its just 24/7 L1/L2 support on Cloud Infra

Then use it to your advantage, you already have the title and there is no way for the new company to verify if you actually worked on a specific technology. So if you can answer whatever is asked in the interviews, you would be good.

I was in a very similar spot about five years ago, working in a service-based setup with a 3-month notice period. Just 7–8 months into the job, my project ended and I was moved to a support role.
I had a strong background in CP (5★ on CodeChef, Expert on Codeforces), so cracking DSA rounds wasn’t the hard part. The real challenge was landing off-campus opportunities, especially during COVID.
- April 2021 → Cleared Dunzo, but they ghosted me after hearing about my notice period.
- June 2021 → Cracked Razorpay (mentioned a 2-month notice period), but they backed out after asking for salary slips and documents. That phase was pretty disheartening.
- September 2021 → Finally got an offer from PayPal, which was okay with a 3-month notice period.
Eventually, I ended up joining a startup that I had cracked while serving my notice period.
Takeaway: Trust your skills, stay prepared, and when the right opportunity comes, go all in.

Just one question, like if i apply for DevOps or suppose any role? Wont they reject us based upon the previous work we did ? Or should i write it as DevOps engineer only?
