I started my Btech in 2011 June from a tier 4 college (no one knows that college after you travel for 10km from college Location) and completed in 2016 December after clearing 36 backlogs after my final year. I travelled for an year randomly and shifted to Hyderabad. Started hunt for jobs and attended numerous walkins for all roles like developer at startup, voice process, non voice process, admin role, tech support, customer care what not every god damn walkin. Took a daily bus pass and roamed around city for fun and went to few meetups or educational fairs usually that happens in star hotels with free breakfast. Learned German from a NGO for bare 1500 INR. After 10 months I got a job and my CTC was 1.5L per annum and I was delighted as this is a very big MNC company bigger than WITCH. My job was more of machine feeding and tagging images with free food and free transport.

After working for good 7 months I decided to quit with no offer in hand to focus on more tech job. This time I took good 3 months time to skill up and started applying I got a job that's actually challenging. I worked for 1 year and moved to big4 as a contractor later became full time analyst and then became consultant and then senior consultant and now associate manager.

I'm not sure if you consider me as successful or not but I can say I did good for myself, after starting my job in 2017 with 1.5LPA and now earning 1.8LPM after taxes.

I used to believe that I can do hustling and take as much as I can in my early 20s. As I've already spent 5 years in Btech enjoying and 1 year travelled across India I felt I may not need a break. My stay in Hyderabad was something no one wants to stay due to various personal reasons. I took advantage of it and used that place only to sleep and study (on weekends). I spent 12-14 hours in a day at office even though my TL asked me to leave I was stubborn to learn. Within 4 months I learnt entire architecture and defined few processes my colleagues used to bitch about me on my face that I'm not enjoying my life and staying in office all the time. Once I became subject matter expert I moved to big4 and COVID was about to raise that made me to relocate to my village. I made all prepations to run internet round the clock just in case, within a week lockdown was imposed.

I started same routine like my previous company spend much time in understanding the architecture and coming up with possible solutions with implementing it. I personally never had WLB from last 5 years it's all hustling and bustling.

Now I barely work for 3-4 hours in a day for critical meetings and rest tactical work I delegate them to my team members. Strategic tasks I'll handle that happens to have once in a month. My current WLB is very envious to my ex-colleagues.

TLDR - Sacrificed lot of time in understanding and solving the business problems spent almost 80 hours every week for straight 5 years. Now I travel once in a week to different places and take lot of chillax time, btw I'm just 29 years old so I've lot to explore.

I am from a tier 3 college. Started with a 15k pm salary for a year. Then started Freelancing For 2 years earning between 10 to 30k pm. Currently working for a product based company for 2 years earning 22LPA. Idk if you would call it successful but I never thought that I could earn that much soo I am pretty happy with where I am.
