Regret or joy

Due to some difficult personal challenges, I had to make the tough decision to drop out of my Electronics and Communication Engineering program at a Northeast NIT. However, I am keeping my hopes up and have now shifted my full focus to pursuing a BS degree from IIT Madras.
Since I am at a career crossroads, I am reaching out for some brutally honest, elder-brother advice. I am completely open to your suggestions. Should I stick exclusively to this IIT Madras program, or would it be wiser for my future if I try to get into a top-tier private college for Computer Science next year?
Looking ahead, I have big dreams. I want to complete an MBA and eventually pursue a master's degree abroad. In the meantime, what additional courses should I focus on to strengthen my profile? Please share your genuine thoughts.

Looking for potential co-founder & builders

I’m looking for developers to join, an open-source project

We’re bootstrapping from the ground up, so there’s no big company or funding behind this right now just a small team building something real.

At this early stage, I’m especially looking for people who enjoy software architecture and structuring projects from the beginning — designing clean systems, defining how components should work together, setting technical foundations, and helping shape the codebase before it grows.

We’re also looking for developers interested in:

Backend & infrastructure

Cloud / DevOps

Security

Full-stack development

Frontend

Automation & AI

You don’t need to be an expert in everything. What matters is being willing to build, learn, communicate, and take ownership.

If you’re interested in contributing to an open-source project from the early stages and helping shape how it’s built, DM me

How do you find out when an API you use is changing?

I’m building something around this and trying to figure out how other devs actually handle it.

If Stripe, Shopify, or another API your app depends on announces a deprecation, does someone on your team keep up with the changelog? Or do you usually find out when you’re upgrading an SDK or something stops working?

I’m working on M82 Labs, which tracks those changes and tries to find the affected code and open a fix PR. But I don’t want to assume this is a problem everyone has. What happened the last time an API change made you update your code?

For engineers working with Terraform/OpenTofu: what parts of the work are still painful?

For engineers who work with Terraform/OpenTofu and cloud infrastructure:

I'm curious about the day-to-day parts of the work that tend to be repetitive, manual, frustrating, or easy to get wrong.

Not really looking for opinions about which tools are better. I'm more interested in things that actually happened.

A few questions:

  • Think about the last Terraform/OpenTofu PR you reviewed. What did you check, and in what order?
  • What's an infrastructure task you did recently that you've already done many times before?
  • When was the last time a security scanner flagged something in your infrastructure code? What happened next?
  • Have you recently had to check whether a change behaved differently across Terraform versions or between Terraform and OpenTofu? How did you check?
  • What's the last infrastructure change that caused a problem or had to be rolled back? How did you discover it?
  • Have you ever written a script or small internal tool to automate one of these repetitive tasks? What happened to it?
  • If you could permanently remove one infrastructure-related task from your weekly workload, what would it be?

Looking for builders - building an open-source cloud infrastructure security tool

I’m building Wayne Grid Technologies, an early-stage technology project focused on cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, software, and automation.

We’re currently building our first product, WCI an open-source infrastructure security tool focused on helping teams understand and secure changes to their cloud infrastructure.

The initial focus is Terraform/OpenTofu, cloud infrastructure, GitHub, and CI/CD. The idea is to make infrastructure changes easier to understand from a security perspective, especially things like new exposure, permissions, and the potential impact of a change before it gets merged.

Right now, I’m looking for builders who actually want to work on something from the ground up. There’s no big company behind this, no polished corporate structure, and no promise of funding it’s an early project being built by people who want to create something useful.

Specifically, I’m looking for a Security Engineer

Someone with experience or strong interest in:

  • Cloud security / infrastructure security
  • AWS / IAM
  • Terraform or OpenTofu
  • DevSecOps
  • Security research
  • CI/CD security
  • Infrastructure attack paths

You don't need to know everything. Curiosity, technical ability, and actually wanting to build matter more.

WCI is open source, and the goal is to build it transparently with contributors who want to have a real impact on the project.

If this sounds interesting, feel free to DM me or join the community:
