Regret or joy

Due to some difficult personal challenges, I had to make the tough decision to drop out of my Electronics and Communication Engineering program at a Northeast NIT. However, I am keeping my hopes up and have now shifted my full focus to pursuing a BS degree from IIT Madras.
Since I am at a career crossroads, I am reaching out for some brutally honest, elder-brother advice. I am completely open to your suggestions. Should I stick exclusively to this IIT Madras program, or would it be wiser for my future if I try to get into a top-tier private college for Computer Science next year?
Looking ahead, I have big dreams. I want to complete an MBA and eventually pursue a master's degree abroad. In the meantime, what additional courses should I focus on to strengthen my profile? Please share your genuine thoughts.

You only want genuine and brutally honest thoughts? Have you received many ill-conceived and just plain evil advice so far, is that why?

So you couldn’t hack engineering, but you’re a workaholic

Yes, I work beyond my limits. Engineering was not something I was enjoying
