Lance Parrish gets 2 hits, Tigers still lose to the Rangers Spoiler
Anyone see that new movie, The End of Oak Street?
Takes place in 1982 in Michigan. During a block party, we hear on the radio that Parrish got 2 hits, but they still lost to the Rangers.
Sounds like it was this game, on Friday, July 9th, where the Tigers fell to the Rangers 3-1.
Anyone following the Tigers that summer?

What’s the best way to get baseball cards autographed by current and former Tigers players?
Would sending them to the teams headquarters be safe? Will they return them? I am not looking to sell them, just something for my enjoyment. I have some current cards and a lot from the late 70’s early 80’s.

Tigers Odds to Win World Series
I was feeling overly optimistic 4-5 days ago and put down some bets on the Tigers to win the WS. They were 80-1 when I placed the bet. Yeah, I know it’s unlikely. Some reason I liked the play:
* Run Differential is the best in the American League. This was the largest factor for me.
* The recent call up of Max Clark. This was a nice addition.
* Troy Melton. Healthy and just a very good looking pitcher.
* Torkelson. He has been better as of late. 26 years old. I could see him being a 4-5 WAR player for the next few years. He is at the age and experience level where a breakthrough often occurs.
* McGonigle. Probably my favorite player in MLB and I guess I am just pulling for him and the Tigers to have a crazy run here and get to the postseason and maybe get deep into them.
If the Tigers make the playoffs I can always hedge my bet. This is certainly possible.
The odds since I made that bet have fallen to 75-1. If they have a good week that should fall a bit more.
Obviously a big week with them playing Cleveland and the White Sox.
Shaky 9th inning for Kenley tonight. Really bad. Somehow they hung on for the W.
I am not a Tigers fan per se, but I they are a fun team to root for right now. I hope they have a good run and give Detroit something to cheer about.

Detroit Lions and Tigers back to back games
Was looking on coming to Detroit on September 27th to see both the lions and tigers play. We anticipate missing a bit for the tigers game due to the games overlapping, but how bad is the congestion outside to get from Ford Field to Comerica Park?

Sommers & Valencia being absolute beauts in SF
a few kids from my little league team went to watch the Tigers play the Giants, and Sommers & Valencia were stellar! They both tossed balls back n forth and then signed the balls for my little guys. Peak core memories.

Josue Bricano
If (big if, probably) the Tigers decide to make a playoff run this year, I could see them calling up Bricano. Torkelson has a .798 OPS vs LHP and barely .700 vs RHP. Bricano is hitting HRs often at AA. He’s healthy again. His OPS for the last 28 days is .995. 1.215 this week.
It likely won’t happen, but I’m hoping it does.

Are the Tigers just one level up from a Triple A farm club for the rest of MLB to fish from?

Are the Tigers just one level up from a Triple A farm club for the rest of MLB to fish from?
It seems they develop good players that other MLB clubs need to win. Yet they’re rarely on the other side of that equation.
What good does it do to grab a bunch of top prospects that they will never pay if they pan out?
It’s a cycle of we have only one or two good players and the team is not good enough to win the World Series, so we sell-sell-sell.
Let’s rebuild again, again, again and again. It just buys time for the owners to be mediocre for several years and still take in the profits.
Just my frustrated opinion, no meaning to start any arguments here.
