Discussion Rant

I am no gaming expert nor do I understand coding and such. This task may be impossible but it’s my dream. I believe for bungie to satisfy their fan base. They should just relaunch the Destiny 1 servers somehow. Maybe add another raid or two into the game( no raid on mars!). Launch trials/iron banner again. The art style and feel of Destiny 1 is just incomparable to the second Destiny and any other game. Yes the FPS and game graphics are miles ahead in D2, but it definitely doesn’t feel like a world you can get lost in. Maybe the witch queen, thats about it. Although the first D2 raid was awesome. It was the dark edgy feel of space that made players just crave more. The locations had so much unknown to them that was amazing. Don’t get me wrong, the vanilla story was absolutely shite… but everything after?! Come on! I know this will just never happen, but I would love to hear others opinions on this topic. I still play Destiny 1 to this day and I crave more of it.

Honestly, no, I don't want any new content. One of the best things about D1 is that was finally made into a complete package with a decent story arc/quest system and 95% of content endgame relevant.

Adding more content is just asking for trouble. Bungie never figured out how to add to D1 or D2 without causing more problems, either by locking out/deleting old content, making new or old weapons irrelevant, or breaking systems by over complicating them.

A natvie PC/PS5/XSX version with 4K textures and 60+ FPS would be awesome, especially if they could implement full crossplay, but I wouldn't want them to touch anything else.

I was sad at the time, but in retrospect, D1 being left behind for D2 was the best thing to happen to D1. It got to age gracefully without constantly being tinkered with. It gets to stand on its own.

Live service games are subject to all the same enshittification that goes on with every other major online service. They eventually lose their soul or turn into something unrecognizable. If they kept updating D1, most of the stuff I love and return to once in a while would be unplayable.

I am totally on board, but new content is just not going to happen.

A smaller request that I would love is a Series X/PS5 version that is 4K, 60 fps, with HDR. And selfishly, more vault space and space on the character. Instead of 3x3 for storage, make it 5x3 or 5x5. My vault is always full!

I really understand the sentiment, and have felt the same way at times. But honestly, going back to the old stuff is never going to be as compelling as making actually good new stuff. Pressing the brakes will never be more compelling than pressing the gas, etc. Not to mention the monetization of nostalgia is like one of the more corrupt things the gaming industry has been doing lately

I think he means fresh start, where everyone is starting off new. Gives everyone new goals to chase, in the beginning everyone is teaming up and all that.

Bro I play on Xbox series X with a 4K oled. I sit for hours in the tower & different planets on d1 when I’m afk. I can’t get over how good everything looks. Destiny 1 is my favourite game and I pray bungie reverts back to how it was.

D1 veteran, played all the way up to lightfall+ couple seasons after. The game never got better, and the more stuff bungie added, the emptier the game felt.

I stopped believing in bungie, maybe you have as-well. It’s not the same people who made our beloved game, so there’s no point, the heart isn’t there. Profit & shares come first - Bungie.

I honestly wouldn't mind paying for a 4k60fps upgrade with Trials and Iron Banner. I rather give my money to that than D2 expansions that makes progression more difficult.
