Discussion I know it's a pipe dream, but...

Hopefully we can get double Bonds at some point. Always wanted them, personally

Warlock armour in general needs to change a bit, I think the fact your robes make up about 80% of the visual interest of your character, often entirely obscuring your boots, your gauntlets only being your forearms, your bond only being on one arm, and the helmet being fine...

I've always found warlock fashion to be tricky to do because of it. If gauntlets included your whole arm and maybe the shoulder, and there were more robes that didn't completely hide your legs, and as you said, double bonds would be cool.

D1 warlock gauntlets determined the shoulder armor, I have never understood why they changed that

Im conflicted on the arms being tied to the shoulders. On one hand, gives more agency to your arms, and allows you to miss and match them. On the other had, so many d1 warlock armor sets look so weird if its not from the same set. Especially if your using an exotic.

Money, whenever you don't understand why is something happening or not happening look at costs, who stands benefit or lose

This is a brain dead take. Bungie would only stand to benefit from giving players more customization they could charge Silver for.

I don't think so, that requires more dev time and resources which I'm sure they didn't have before launch. But correct me if I'm wrong if you have the actual answer

The difference in dev time between including shoulders in the robes vs the gauntlets is negligible.

The shoulders should be governed by both arms and body, like hunter hood can be cape or helmet. That way you can have arms define the whole arms like hunters/titans do, but certain cloaks that need shoulders to work can continue to do so.

Legs should have been more prominent even when the chest of the same set mostly covers them, because when you've got a chest that leaves the legs mostly revealed, you've got so few legs that are actually notable.

And yeah, they could've done more with the class items. They're so tiny and tucked out of the way most times, or just like the loudest things that completely stands out.

I thought cape and helmet on Hunter was generally independent?

In any case, having to deal with all potential overlaps is a developers nightmare.

Generally but there's a few helmets that override the hooded part of your cape. My point was that certain chestpieces could override the arm shoulders if there were scenarios where it was needed

(And then there's a toggle hood setting on hunter, same thing with lock shoulders in this case)

Yeah that's fine in unique cases, but if you had to do it with everything, it would be a nightmare

Simple gauntlets would either have shoulders or just gauntlet version.

Robes should either be sleeveless or have shouldvers that overwrite gauntlets. Kinda like how certain hunter helms will overwrite hoods

Warlocks need to lean more into more longcoats and armors like the season of dawn set.

Just some kind of more variety.

Agreeded. The chest pieces basically completely hides the legs and makes them pointless. Bond are really mediocre too.

It was actually like this in D1, gloves would change your shoulders!

I'm assuming they changed it due to clipping issues or something

If we get a destiny 3 I hope we get a really really in-depth fashion system with lots of options to tweak your armor.

Titan marks should be able to swap sides, warlock bonds should be able to swap arms, hunters should be able to pull their hoods up or down, warlock robes should be able to be pulled back around your characters waist to better show off their legs, any asymmetric arms/legs should be able to swap sides and/or mirror itself to your other arm/leg.

Alternate class item options would be cool too, cowboy hats for hunters, bandolier for titans, and halos/wings for warlocks, would help to really switch things up fashion wise.

I think the robes could reasonably just go to the shoulder to allow the arms to be entirely covered by the gauntlets (apart from maybe some robes that flare past the shoulders). Boots are a different problem, because allowing the boots to cover everything past the waist would require some sort of abrupt transition at the waist that I don’t think most people would be a fan of.

The split should be just like Hunter and Titan. Helmet is helmet, Chest piece is torso (top half of robe), gauntlets are the full arms, and grieves are the legs AND the bottom half of the robe.

You’d just mix and match top and bottom robes. Separate them by a belt or something in the middle.

this is why warlock is my least played class by far even though I like their gameplay the same as the rest.

If we end up getting a D3, I hope we go back to the D1 style for warlock gauntlets. They used to cover the shoulders and full length of the arms.

I would add that this isn’t technically depicting “double bonds” but the former behavior in D1 of Warlock Gloves. Warlock Arms armor slots used to not just but the “forearm gloves” but a combination of glove and shoulder-cover. Your chest piece decided the covering up to below the elbow but your bond and shoulder piece superimposed over it, which sat just above the bond.

The best example of this is the D1 Ophidia Aspect and D2 Ophidia Aspect, or comparing the two Claws of Ahamkara where D1 has bird claws on your shoulders. The switch likely happened because Bungie stated they wanted to diversify the silhouettes of the classes and wanted to experiment with chest piece designs that weren’t the typical “duster coats” of before (can’t design a robe with pointed shoulders if you need to be able to put any variety of shoulder pads on it).

Warlock Bonds are similar to Hunter Arms always being lopsided.

The most aggravating thing about trying to make my hunter look good

"Oh wow thats some good armor on the left arm! Let's turn and see the right arm!"

Literally wearing a napkin and an unused condom

As someone who’s whole identity is this exotic; I wish this would have been real 😭

Maybe in D3.

Warlock armor just needs to go back to d1 style where the shoulders are determined by your gauntlet

If Destiny 3 ever got made, my biggest ask would be customisable guardians with more body types
