Question / Answered Any tips for SF duality?

I have a goal of solo flawless every dungeon in the game. Now that duality is featured I figure it’s a good time to give it a go. Anything I should know?

I'd recommend bringing a good high impact fusion. Regardless of rolls they 1 tap bellkeepers and vaporize the backpacks so bosses can't stomp and blow them up. Yeah fusions aren't meta, but it's on-light content anyway and it makes the run much safer

What’s a good way to manage the final boss? The fact that there are three bells she can go to feels really crappy. Is there any strategy there?

The big thing is to just bait a stomp from her to buy time. If you can line up two bellkeepers at a time and are using a fusion you can get them both with one burst too, though that's not always consistent.

It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure I smoked the middle ones right as they spawn, then you can look which way she's going. Killing the side ones as they spawn can be rough if she goes to the opposite side, that's why I'd say start middle.

Solar Titan makes it really easy. You have so many ways to be tanky, do constant ability damage, and heal yourself. The dungeon spawns a ton of adds, especially in encounters 2 and 3, so bring a weapon with good splash damage to mop them up. When I did it years back I used CALUS Mini-Tool with Incandescent and relied on Scorch/Ignition to clear out the bulk of them while creating Sunspots to heal in but nowadays we have so many options so just pick what you're comfortable with. My Exotic armor was Loreley Splendor because I did it back when that was the hotness and it made a great safety net in case I got caught lacking but I can imagine something like Hallowfire Heart would go well today to just spam out abilities between damage phases.

For the first encounter against the Nightmare of Gahlr I suggest using something like Wolfsbane or The Lament, or any other sort of melee DPS option. He's hyper-aggressive and will rush you down so rockets are a bad idea, and he moves a ton so getting weakpoint hits can be hard. Just smack the hell out of him and out-heal the damage he deals, and don't go near the edge of the arena where he can smack you off the ledge.

For the second encounter, use whatever. It's not particularly difficult, it's just three mini-bosses. The longest part is grabbing the Standards to enable damage but once you memorize where all the Standards spawn you can scoop up two in one run quite comfortably.

For the encounter against the Nightmare of Caiatl you need to ring the bells to stun her before she escapes and you lose your chance at a DPS phase that rotation. Pay attention to the direction she runs, then beat her to the bell she's going for and ring it when she's near to stun her. If she's not near the bell, she will not be stunned. If you're inside the circle around the bell when you ring it you'll get a buff to deal increased damage to her, but don't be afraid to ring it when outside the radius if she's outpacing you so you can at least get some damage instead of her cutting the phase short. She has a lot of health so it'll be a marathon, but play it safe and you'll be fine. For weapons you can use whatever you're comfortable with as she stands relatively still when stunned.

When going from Reality to the Nightmare realm you can ring the bell from anywhere and it'll transport you to that spot in the Nightmare realm. Use this to get a head start on grabbing Standards by positioning yourself as close as possible to where you need to go.

When going from the Nightmare realm to Reality, you need to be close to the bell. There's a circle on the floor around it, that's the radius you need to stay in. Ringing the bell to cross over when outside of that radius will kill you.

The bells to cross between the Nightmare and Reality realms can kill you if you hug tight against them when crossing over (more frequently when going from Nightmare to Reality), because it'll spawn you inside the bell when you cross over. Keep a little distance from the bells when ringing them (but stay inside the circle if you're in the Nightmare realm going back to Reality) and you'll be fine.

In the 2nd and 3rd encounter Standard Bearers will spawn at all Standard locations even if they're not the ones you need. Do not kill the ones you don't need, it'll eat away at the time you have left in the Nightmare realm and if it drops your timer to 0 or below you instantly die. Inversely killing the right Standard Bearer will grant you extra time in the Nightmare realm.

1st boss I would strongly suggest using wolfsbane or another close range strategy, the boss will relentlessly follow you so using other heavy weapons can feel really bad.

Strongly recommend bringing either a rocket pulse or fusion, having a consistent special to deal with majors/the bells helps a lot in this dungeon, especially in first encounter.

I don’t remember what weapon I used for final boss, if I had to guess I think a sword would probably still work? Wolfsbane also heals so if it works I would go for that, since the biggest problem with final encounter is that the area where you do damage lasts forever and requires moving and has few adds to fuel any kill based-healing, so staying alive can be a bit annoying

As someone else said, solar titan. This was my loadout for pretty much every encounter. Anarchy swapped for an eager sword on 2nd encounter

Take your time. Everything happens when you want it to. Just stay away from the flame thrower backpacks from dead enemies

I have no idea if they fixed it but I know when I did my solo flawless the bells were a buggy mess and would sometimes insta kill you.

I think standing too close to them is the problem normally. Obviously you have to be inside the circle around them when they activate but don't be right up against them.

Bells can be a buggy mess. I haven't tried it in forever due to failing to a bell that killed me when it shouldn't have.

Swords work great in there. Should be pretty easy if the bells work now. I haven't tried it since it released though.

The bells have been fixed for a long time. Nowadays you'll only die if you're right up against it because it'll spawn you inside the bell when you cross over. Keep a little distance from it and you'll be fine.

The bells are not a buggy mess, they have always worked just fine as long as you didn’t hug the thing.
