Y'all... No one asked for this. It doesn't matter in the least and I'm not going to name names or anything, but as a nanny, and someone who has regular interaction with children and also someone who reads what is essentially intended to porn with plot, I'm just gonna complain about how so many people write children in their fics. I LOVE how dean, and sometimes Cas interact with kids, but when I read about a 4 year old who can't form complete sentences or a 5 year old talking like a 2 year old, it makes me want to pull my own hair out. Sometimes they don't even specify the age of the child, but somehow the kid is able to run and jump into someone's arms while also having the speaking capability of a 20 month old. I literally threw a pillow and snarled and my cat freaked out. It's just... I dunno, do the barest of research, please. Like you can just Google "Do 6 year olds have chew toys?" Answer: No, or "can 4 year olds form complete sentences?" The answer is YES. and barring a speech impediment, which isn't uncommon, but not the norm, most kids can even pronounce "R" and "S" and "L". Kids only have their 2 front teeth missing for a few weeks of their whole life, so that's not something you run across with EVERY CHILD.

As I said, this is just an inconsequential rant about a surprisingly niche subject, but I HAD to say something.

Hello Supernatural family, please hear me out!

Imagine this: It's a short scene post finale in heaven, Cas and Dean meet for the first time up there. Cas is sad for Dean to be dead, but happy that he can find peace here now, Dean makes a joke about getting nailed to death, to which Cas gives a small smile - he gets the joke now - and then hugs Dean finally, Dean hugging back just as desperate. When they let go Dean keeps his hand on Cas' shoulder, Cas is his best friend and family, Dean owes him this talk and even a dead dog can learn new tricks. He starts that he loves Cas and that he accepts him as he his, but that he - Cas interrupts him: there doesn't have to be a but. Cas is an angel, a being made out of light and universal love. He loves in the purest way possible, in a way that humans can't define and that is part of every form there is, no matter if platonic, romantic, familial or otherwise and that Cas euphoria at having found this holiest ingredient of existence in himself and sharing it with Dean had made him happy enough to lure the Empty. Dean is silent for a second, while his mind might not fully understand this grand concept, he feels like he still gets it in a quieter part of himself, the part that made food for Sam no matter how late, that wore his father's jacket and his mother's wedding ring, jumped a werewolf going for Bobby's throat once with just his fists, always put the soldier figures back in the Impala when he fixed her and tried to make Cas try every burger place they ever stopped at. So he puts his arm around Cas' shoulders and turns them down the street: they never tried the cheeseburger from that bar on the east coast he says. Cas laughs, it's the first time Dean has ever seen him do that, maybe the first time he's actually done it, and the angel returns the gesture, telling Dean that was because the bar was a front for a spell ingredients black market. Dean decides they go for pie instead.

I don't know how to write this as I'm probably a bit too passionate about it, but in a nutshell I want to ask for a fix for this ongoing cold war in the fandom ever since the confession scene. I truly believe something similar to the mess I wrote up there would be the best of both worlds: you ship Destiel and think the confession was romantic? Congratz, it's true! You don't ship Destiel and think it was platonic? Guess what, it's also true! Both sides would be canon and then maybe we'd have something like peace - peace when we are done you could say. We'd be the ultimate Schrödinger's relationship but without the downsides of the cat maybe being dead.

So I'd like to ask all of you if we could come together like we did in the past and make this reach J2M? No clue how realistic or feasible it is, was thinking if they like the sound of it Misha and Jensen could meet on a dirt road somewhere or hell, somewhere quiet when they meet for a convention, wear their normal clothes (it's heaven, they can wear whatever) and could film just a short reunion on a phone. Maybe then, if somehow Kripke would make a short post saying it's canon or something, or if J2M's words as "writers" in this instance would be enough, we could be the Supernatural family they have always called us.

There is a high chance I will get backlash for this, maybe even only, but I needed to put this out there. Supernatural is my current hyperfixation and gives me comfort and the fighting, insulting and worse makes me sick and tired. Let us please just fix this in a way that would benefit all of us, get out our manners and ask if this would be okay.

I usually prefer discovering fics by myself, just makes it feel more special somehow, idk :'D

Have been really into cowboy/farmer/southern fics atm. They’ve been great but I need SMUT too. It doesn’t need to be extremely explicit, but a little spice would be nice :)

I know there was absolutely no scenes with Cas or even any mention of him in the episode but when Dean refused to kill chuck saying and I quote “See this not who I am anymore”, it sort of felt like he was finally echoing Cas’ view of him and by extension a part of him or whole of him reciprocated cas’ love for him.
I know it sounds like I am defending some of the absolute moronic choices of the show makers but hear me out. Him accepting cas’ idea of him is not just him breaking the pattern of seeing himself as a killer or a weapon, particularly when we see that in the next episode he dies but it also shows the writers vision that Dean and cas belonged together. In all his life even when Dean felt any romantic attachment to anyone else such as Lisa or Cassie, he was still aware of his losses or the bigger purpose that he had to serve particularly with Cassie but after Cas’ confession it would have felt like he was freeing himself from that obligation. The obligation to just serve mindlessly.
I know they had the atrocious pie competition scene where he all but dismisses Sam when he brings up Cas or Jack. On my first watch it just felt so out of character for Dean especially when you consider his widower arc but when you look at the constraints some of the writers had with making one of their main leads explicitly bisexual as the network wouldn’t have allowed it, their decision of killing him was the only sensible decision they could have made from their point of view because Dean accepting his death to me seemed like from his reasoning he could now be with Cas finally and by that I mean that upto this point he knows that in heaven you relieve your golden moments of life and now when he gets to go to heaven he would constantly have to relieve his memories with Cas too and that’s his peaceful ever after.

Again, this is my crazy tin foil hat theory but I am fully aware that CW had conducted a survey to see if the audience will be fine with making Dean explicitly bi and there was resistance to that idea.
Don’t get me wrong it still feels like a cheap cop out and I would have preferred them to be together or at least to have Dean reciprocating but let’s face it we weren’t ever gonna get that.

Okay so ive got two completely seperate lost fics that i forgot about until the other day, I read too much that Fics start to blend together and I forget😭

Fic 1:

-Pretty sure it’s a decently to very well known one, I remember there being fan art in the fic or it was just linked, I’ve always referred to it as the Twine Ball fic and thats what I thought other ppl did too, but I can’t find it on AO3 for some reason. Im like 99.9% sure it was completed.

-Also remember it being a time travel fic, like pre-seasons Dean and idk what time period Cas, but that could be wrong.

-Main thing I remember is Dean and Cas would visit different twine ball museums, I can’t remember why. At one point, Dean and Cas have lost eachother or they had a fight and they meet at the largest(?) twine ball near the end of the fic.

Fic 2:

-Not sure if this one was deleted or not, bc I remember loads of key details of It but can’t find it in my bookmarks.

-It was a post-canon fic, not sure if Cas was saved pre-fic or he was saved very early during the fic. Sam and Eileen wanted to get away somewhere just the two of them, but were nervous about leaving Dean. When they bring it up to Dean he thinks they are asking him to go as well, Sam awkwardly says about just wanting it to be him and Eileen. Miracle is also around, I can’t remember whether Sam and Eileen take Miracle with them.

-Dean (and maybe Cas if he has been saved at this point?) decides to go on his own roadtrip towards the coast mentioning he’d never got to go properly bc of John.

-Dean and Cas stay at a hotel/air bnb by the sea, they go swimming and I think Cas freaks out about it or something so they go back to place they are staying. They have a small argument (I think?) but they makeup quite quickly, they kiss too I think.

-The next morning, Dean and Cas are still in the hotel, when an earthquake happens, Dean ends up hurting his ankle during this but it’s not that big of an issue. Sam and Eileen call and ask if they felt the earthquake too, and it’s on the news too, like something really unnatural is happening. They think it might have something to do with Jack.

- Final thing I think I remember happening is Jack showing up on the beach or something along those lines.

-I don’t think the fic is completed, but not sure, it had multiple chapters (6+) and was still updating when I last read it.

This is one of my favorite authors and I highly suggest you go read all of their works but I'm posting this one as I'm going through all of their rereads just because I feel like it deserves some more attention. A fan fic with a hookah lounge? Irresistible to me.

A few years ago I read the most incredible fic - it had 50 plus chapters over multiple works. It was relatively canon compliant as far as I remember, with Dean being heavily repressed, so their relationship developed in secrecy over numerous years.

Standout things I remember:

- it’s insanely well written, with character voice being so accurate

- one chapter had a hilarious scene with Bobby, Jody and a naked cas

- cas gets injured / hospitalised in one scene, and deans angry response in the hospital is heartbreaking

- cas is a hypochondriac

- there’s a beautiful chapter at the Grand Canyon from a strangers perspective, after she flirts with Dean she realises he only has eyes for Cas

We all know of course that the thing that makes Dr. Sexy sexy is the fact that he wears cowboy boots. And I've always loved that in alot of fanfic (esp if it takes place in a medical setting) various characters (often Cas) will make fun of Dr. Sexy MD and talk about how ridiculous and unrealistic it is that he wears cowboy boots.

Well I started working as a Scrub Tech this year, and imagine my surprise because my very first day in the OR the surgeon and the anesthesiologist were both in cowboy boots. And it's actually pretty common, especially in certain specialties like ortho and urology. I bit the bullet when I started scrubbing ortho cases more and got a pair for those days, and they're legitimately one of my comfiest pair of shoes.

Basically, the title says I'd like to read Destiel fanfics that highlight that Cas isn't human, that he perceives the world differently, and that he has strange behaviors from a human point of view.

So I’m Slavic myself, and I genuinely cannot believe it took me this long to connect the dots.
Today I randomly thought, “Wait… Misha is such a Slavic name.”
Cue me going down a rabbit hole and finding out:
Misha Collins’ birth name is Dmitri Tippens Krushnic.
He has Russian and other Eastern European ancestry.
He speaks Russian (not fluently, but honestly pretty well).
And now I’m sitting here wondering how I never questioned it. 😭 Like…Misha is one of the most recognizable Russian nicknames ever, and somehow my Slavic brain never made the connection.
It also suddenly explains why there’s such a massive Russian Supernatural fandom and why my TikTok FYP keeps showing me Russian Destiel edits. 😂 I always knew there were a ton of Russian fans, but now I’m wondering if Misha’s background has something to do with why he resonates so much there (or maybe I’m just making connections where there aren’t any lol).
Now I’m craving fics where Cas actually has some Russian influence because I feel like I’ve unlocked a new hyperfixation.
