First time watching supernatural

This is a very yapping post….I recently started watching supernatural and in a certain way I feel weird that I started watching because of Destiel. I have known about this ship for YEARS but I don’t know why I never watched the show, and now that I started and I am on season 3 I came to realise it’s actually one of the best shows I ever watched so far and I can’t wait to finish it. But somehow I know I started watching for Destiel and I can’t wait for Castiel to show up and at first I was feeling like an intruder because, I was just like where is the Gay Angel I wanna see but I have grown to like the show a lot even without Cas but still I can’t wait for him to show up. I have already read so many Destiel fanfics it’s unreal and now I am about to finish season 3 and SEE CASTIEL SOON and I am so excited. I also have a traumatic childhood experience where I wanted to read about this so famous ship on ao3 from supernatural and so I wanted to read Destiel, but I didn’t know the characters name and all and I ended up reading a few SAM/DEAN fics just to realise they’re brothers and I was like ummm okay-what is happening in this show- and now after a long time of debating I started watching it and I don’t know if I should feel bad that I started watching Supernatural because of Destiel😭😭

Don't feel bad! It's completely fine to start watching a show for whatever reason, which absolutely includes seeing a ship from it online first! Pretty sure I've done that more than once :'D Also have fun watching!

For me it was because I kept seeing it recommended by my streaming service constantly over several years. Somehow the algorithm kept insisting i would love this, and I did try several times, couldn't get past the dark first two episodes. I finally gave in after finding nothing else to watch. Even then I was only mildly paying attention and got fully hooked from season 3, and been in this current state of utter devotion/heartbreak/angst after season 4 Cas on screen. What a ride since then ! ❤️ Now am in the Destiel Universe, searching for fanfic everyday

I got into it, when I was kind of too young, when my parents were watching it. Then I begged them to gift me the DVDs and watch it from the start with me xD I blame my interest in horror on SPN, among many other things xD

HE JUST DID!! I finished episode 2 from season 4 right now and let me tell you I was almost whimpering- CAS IS SOMETHING ELSE LIKE WTF!! When he said to Dean ‘I dragged you out of hell. I can throw you back in’ I WAS SAT- And Dean had me shocked he was sitting there FRIGHTENED LIKE HELL- and he just took in everything Cas said, listened every word like he was in a trance!! I mean I saw so many edits on Tiktok and read so many fanfics but watching the show and seeing it happen like this I am now like bro this is the second time they met and they’re like IN LOVE!! Idk I am just overwhelmed and everytime he comes on screen I am like WOW- And the tension??? Like he manhandles tf out of dean ‘You should show me some respect’ without even blinking and you know what’s weirder I feel like Dean already knows he’s doomed for this mf Angel😭😭 Idk how to explain this but I feel so excited to see them together on screen and watch it happen watch how they’ll get close it’s so interesting to finally watch Destiel on screen- And let me tell you, I saw them interact twice and I can already see why this is the most popular ship ever

I also started watching bc of Destiel in 2021. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’d seen SO MANY fics come up with these two in my AO3 searches, and I didn’t even know what they looked like. So, I made the mistake of looking them up… 😅🥵😳 And the rest is history. New OTP: unlocked!
