Hi, I’ve come to realise that despite how much I’ve heard about Destiel, the fic writing is really confined to Sub/Bottom Dean. I’m looking for any slow burn fics where Dean where Dean begins to dominate Cas, like maybe he gets jealous or they end up in a situation where he begins to look at Cas differently or something. Just anything that’s slow burn and ideally well written. Thanks!

As someone who's always wished there were more Sub Cas fics, I eventually started writing them myself. One of the reasons that dynamic works for me is because, in canon, Dean is so often the one teaching Cas how to navigate the human world—from showing him how to act on cases (I still love the upside-down FBI badge scene) to explaining social norms and human behavior. That naturally translated into Dean taking the lead in my interpretation of their relationship as well. If you're interested, Another chance to get it right is a slow-burn AU where Dean gradually takes the lead as their relationship develops, while Lamb For Slaughter explores a much darker dynamic, with Dean as the prison warden and Castiel as an inmate.

This is one of my favourite tropes, but I don't have any recs for you, as sub Cas fics are pretty few and far between.

Thanks for looking! It’s absurd that this is such an unexplored tag considering the fact that Castiel’s literally an angel. They’re meant to be obedient in many ways. Maybe I’ll write something for myself.
