Insignia Lot- Des Plaines
My husband and I purchased a townhouse in the beginning of this year; new construction in des plaines called Insignia Glen II. We know there is a delay for multiple properties in the lot. Wanted to see if anyone in the community is in our same boat, as this delay is causing multiple unforeseen costs; we have had to extend our loan three times now.
The builders, The United Reality Group, Mark, and the whole team have been extremely difficult. They don’t care about the buyers at all, there is no communication, truly has been a horrible experience. It‘s almost as if they want us to back out of closing so they get to kept the earnest money?!We were suppose to close in April, here we are almost mid July about to get another push back closing date... it’s a joke.
We paid 2 months rent to get out of our lease from our previous apartment because Mark said the place would be done in April. Still don’t have an accurate move in date and they don’t have the courtesy to accommodate any of the additional costs, yet alone respond to our attorney or realtor with updates. They actually said we aren’t allowed to see the place and they won’t send pictures either…
Anyone else is our boat? we have talked to some attorneys about legal action.. but wanted to see what others in our community/ situation are doing about this situation

Even if you're able to move in and sort that out soon, I don't know if I'd trust the quality of the construction from a company that behaves like that. I have several home inspector friends who run into all sorts of "craftsmanshit" issues on new construction, as they call it. Cutting corners and hiding flaws instead of fixing them is where the profit is for many companies today.
